A Very Dangerous Trend

Chanting pro-Pakistan slogans following India’s defeat is not on

[dropcap color=”#008040″ boxed=”yes” boxed_radius=”8px” class=”” id=””]T[/dropcap]he arrest of 15 persons in Madhya Pradesh and the booking of 20 youths in Kerala for chanting pro-Pakistani slogans following the defeat of the Indian cricket team by Pakistan in the Champions Trophy is an ominous trend.

Like in Bollywood films, the men in khaki arrive at the scene of crime well after the deed has been done.

Had the final match been between Pakistan and some other team there would have been no celebrations. It is the defeat of India which they were celebrating.

One may argue that one may root for Team Pakistan on merit and still keep one’s patriotic commitment intact. But what was witnessed in the heart of India and in the southern state is highly disconcerting. It is in keeping with developments in the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) campus where slogans calling for the “barbadi” (destruction) of India were raised.

Anti-nationalism which was hitherto confined to the Kashmir Valley is spreading and it is sought to be legitimized by the God of small things and those of her ilk.

What is the reason for this dangerous trend? A multiplicity of factors is responsible for this grim situation.

First is the tolerance of such seditious activities by the leftish-dominated pseudo-liberal elite which is entrenched in the media, varsities and the non-BJP political establishment.

Second is the reluctance of the BJP-led NDA to order a heavy crackdown on such elements for the fear of being labelled “undemocratic”, “fascist” et al.

Third is the reactive nature of policing in India. Like in Bollywood films, the men in khaki arrive at the scene of crime well after the deed has been done. The police and intelligence agencies have not penetrated seditious movements because of which they are clueless about anti-national eruptions. And last, but not the least, the colossal failure of the erstwhile UPA regime and the incumbent Modi dispensation to deliver a body blow to the benami economic empire (in Indian soil) of the likes of Dawood Ibrahim who are in cahoots with Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), which is able to carry out its nefarious activities in the Kashmir Valley and now in other parts of India with impunity.

It’s time the Modi sarkar bared its fangs in the national interest. Now.

  1. Many a Indian Muslims ,are still Muslims first and Indians later , if at all.
They are in India but not of India. They have not become Indians at heart even after nearly seventy years post-partition.
It is their loss first. Unless they( Muslims ) come out of their shells and join the mainstream life of India ,become true Indians at heart ,their own progress will remain restricted.
Can we force nationalism down their throats ? No ,we can not.
Only with time they will realize their folly and mend their ways.
Until then our police force has to put a sense of fear in them for any acts of treason and be strict with them.
UPA and many a State Governments indulge in Muslims appeasement and are therefore deliberately soft on them in such matters.
Muslims in India must be the most spoiled minority anywhere.

P.S. : Our Prime Minister Modi being taunted as 56 ” repeatedly by some here on PGurus is in very poor taste. Alas ,like nationalism ,good manners and civility can not be forced down on any one’s throat. It is matter of ones’s personal choice and has to be cultivated from within.

  2. This is not new to our country, probably you guys must have come across because of the pervasive SM/MSM.I vividly remember fire crackers going off in Shivajinagar area/Bengaluru during the late 1970s when Pakis were touring our country or when we play them in Sharjah.Certain sections still think they are part of the “other” land and the 5th column represented by our loony leftists keep adding fuel to it.Our 56″ probably taking Narasumma Rao’s line of not doing anything and the problem goes away on its own.

  3. IMHO, it is sick or seditious minds that will celebrate the victory of Pakistan over India. But there are (and perhaps can’t be) laws to arrest people with sick minds.

So, intelligence wing of police can use such occasions to identify potential seditious people to keep a tab. The truly sick ones have to be tolerated (or better, educated), while seditious ones have to be caught in their act and punished.
