Dr. Swamy’s charge of internal sabotage of the 2G case is so very true. Some ultra bhakts are claiming that the probe was monitored by the Supreme Court (SC) so the Modi govt couldn’t intervene!! How silly!! It was Dr. Swamy and Prashant Bhushan who moved an application for SC monitoring of probe precisely to ensure professional investigation and prosecution. Nothing in the law prevented the Modi sarkar from presenting a watertight case. Also, the ED’s charge sheet was filed AFTER Modi was sworn in.
The SC did NOT go into the issues of corruption and conspiracy in spectrum allotment.
Some ill-informed guys are saying that the SC canceled all 122 licenses because it found corruption. Justice GS Singhvi, one of the two SC judges who passed the order, has clarified that the limited issue before the SC was only whether the nation’s resources should be auctioned. The SC only upheld the principle of the auction. It did NOT go into the issues of corruption and conspiracy in spectrum allotment. That task was left to the special judge Mr. Saini.
Mr. Saini has passed a very reasoned order on the basis of the material placed before him. The solid basis for his finding of the choreography. The blame is clearly placed at the door of this govt.
Some ultra bhakts are also saying that 80% of the bureaucracy is pro-Congress. Is that why the Modi govt showered a largesse of thousands of crores by way of the seventh pay commission? Is that why an amendment to the Prevention of Corruption approved by the cabinet which, if implemented, will make it virtually impossible to prosecute corrupt bureaucrats? Is that why no action is being taken against IAS officers who are openly supporting the erstwhile coal secretary HC Gupta who has been found guilty by the court? Is that why ED official Niranjan Singh of Chandigarh was shunted out when he summoned Akali minister Bikram Singh Majithia in connection with a massive narco smuggling and money laundering case? Is that why the govt is not getting the RBI to disclose the names of loan defaulters who have borrowed Rs 500 cr and above even after the SC shot down the apex bank’s specious plea of the fiduciary relationship between the banks and their borrowers? Is that why the Modi govt is not acting against Mukesh Ambani in the $1.5 billion KGB (Krishna Godavari Basin) gas case?
It’s high time Mr Modi realizes that his bhakts are causing more damage to him than well-meaning critics like Dr Swamy.

ED filed the charge sheet in 2011 and not after BJP came to power and the prosecution was led by independent, SC appointed special prosecutor.
Please check the facts before writing. This government made two attempts before Judge Saini to present further evidence. One in August 2014, which was accepted and another in 2015 when the court rejected it and said no more submissions.
Regarding allegations of the Punjab minister in drug racket, the same news paper (The Tribune ) that ran the story in 2014 and 2015 backtracked and issued a public apology for causing damage to his credibility as there was no involvement found.
The author should have checked his facts.
Judge Saini made a valid point saying that in the absence of legally permissible evidence he had no option but to discharge all the accused.
I believe the Modi Government has no intention of bringing a successful prosecution against any corrupt. Its track record since May 2014 is ample proof.
Dr. Swamy’s charge of internal sabotage is true ??
Will he clarify why his daughter’s father-in-law Salman Haidar was among those who met Pakistan’s Khurshid Kasuri at Mani Shankar Aiyar’s house along with Manmohan Singh and others ?
