China willing to play mediator between India and Pakistan

China yesterday tried to interfere in the prolonging Kashmir issue between India and Pakistan. They said that they are willing to play “a constructive role” to solve the Kashmir issue amicably. India, however, gives them a tight slap and made it clear that no third party needs to poke their nose into India’s affairs.

We are ready to have a dialogue with Pakistan on Kashmir under a bilateral framework

In a press conference today, Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Gopal Baglay made India’s position very clear. “New Delhi’s position on addressing all issues with Pakistan in a bilateral framework has not changed. At the heart of the matter is really the issue of cross-border terrorism perpetrated on India including on the people of the state of J&K.

So, the matter is that cross-border terrorism in our region emanating from a particular source is threatening peace and stability in not only India but other neighbours. We are ready to have a dialogue with Pakistan on Kashmir under a bilateral framework,” said Mr Baglay.

Pakistan however, has always demanded that some third party should mediate.

This is not the first time India has rejected third party interference in the issue. Over the years, the United States of America and the United Nations had both offered to “mediate” over the Kashmir issue. India, however, made it clear that this is an issue between India and Pakistan and we will deal with it ourselves.

Pakistan however, has always demanded that some third party should mediate. They have always looked to China and USA in the earlier days to mediate. However, with the coming of Donald Trump, relations between Pakistan and USA have weakened.

  1. Absolutely no need of third party mediation. Let the Pak vacate from pok and stop generating terrorism. Than come for bilateral resolution if any.
