Defaming Hindu religion: A British and leftist propaganda

When Hinduism is systematically attacked it emphasizes on intentions of defaming a particular religion

India is a land of festivals; this is what we all have learned in our schools during our childhood period. But, eventually the number of festivals is reducing day by day from last two decades or we can also say that systematically all Hindu festivals are being targeted by a particular group of people calling themselves intellectuals.  After 1857 revolution, British had adopted this approach to destroying Indian culture and education[i]. They systematically demonize Indian society by defaming its age-old traditions through their biased researchers and English education system for eg. Defaming India for Sati, Caste system etc.[ii] during that time it was propaganda of Church to defame Indian culture so that they could convert the local Hindu population into Christianity. They did several changes in the education system[iii] as well as Indian religious texts so that the children of Hindus would only learn what British want them to learn and they would not learn about their glorious past.[iv] The experiment was successful but it was limited to only an elite class rich Indians because they were the only ones who could afford English education system. Rest of the India was unaware of the changes and continued to celebrate festivals and continuously followed all sorts of customs and traditions.

After Independence, it was the responsibility of the Nehru government to change the entire British syllabus and design a new syllabus for the nation. But, unfortunately after independence education departments were captured by the same elite class people who were mainly educated in British education system. Some people like Mahatma Gandhi and Deendayal Upadhyay talked about an alternative education system but no one was bothered to listen to them because everyone was either busy in handling problems related to partition after independence or enjoying the privileges of enormous power in government jobs. Eventually, more and more Indian people got educated in the same Hindu bashing anti-Indian education system. Not only that, British gave fellowships and internships to several elite Lutyens Delhi intellectuals from Britain even after leaving India. It changes the minds of the children of elite class people of India, they started thinking in line with the British.

During 70’s when Indira Gandhi got weaker, she took the help from communists and had given them full autonomy on Indian education in favour of their support. The communists were also educated in Hindu bashing British education system and they also followed anti-religion philosophy of Karl Marx and Stalin. So, they also started demeaning all Hindu practices and added several anti Hindu chapters in the books of history and social sciences. Some communists like S.A. Dange tried to write books on Vedas and ancient Indian history but he was thrown out from the communist party by communists of Kerela because they were close to Jihadi and Missionary network of Kerela.

After 1980’s, when Hindu parties like BJP became stronger, then Communists and Congress started playing minority appeasement card for vote bank politics. They did this silent pact with Muslims and Christians that they would not go against their religion even when they did anything wrong but they blame Hindu majority for every riot. This is what they did in 1990’s and 2000’s. During that time communists and Congress did pacts with all regional parties and adopted every practice that makes Hindus weaker just to stop BJP and Sangh Parivar. In that time communist got all the big posts in media and educational departments. This is how Hindu bashing becomes the fashion in media.

The education system designed by communists and anti-Hindu forces have brainwashed several youngsters in last ten years and the result of this can be seen in our top universities like Jadhavpur, JNU etc where students were found shouting all sorts of anti-Indian slogans. Not only this, before every Hindu festival our so-called secular media found some or the other way to insult Hindu festivals. for eg.-

• Diwali – Causes Air pollution
• Holi – Save water
• Shivratri – Save Milk
• Jallikattu – Save animals
• Karwachauth – Anti-women
• Durga Pooja – Anti Dalit because demon Mahishasur was a Dalit (False Propaganda story)
• Ram was Aryan who killed Dalit Shambhuka and Tamil (Dravidian) Ravana. (Again wrong facts)

These are only a few examples which they commonly used to defame Hindu culture but when it comes to the animal killing during ID, Women rights on ‘Halala’ or Electricity wastage and air pollution during New Year celebrations- These people become silent. It shows the double standards of these hypocrites. If they are truly in the favour of animal rights or an environment, they should not discriminate between Hinduism and other religions but when they systematically attack only Hinduism it shows their intentions of defaming a particular religion. The reasons behind this selective bashing of one religion could be foreign funding or their upbringing in British education system. No matter what it is but it is harmful to the country because it not only impacts the minds of youngsters but it also harms our religion and customs.

Indian youngsters should learn to differentiate between the real criticism and criticism with the intent of converting Hindu youth. The reason behind writing this article is to provide an alternative point of view because from last 70 years media is showing only one point of view which was either leftist point of view or British point of view. And in order to do the comparative study of two views, our youth must understand the other point of view. Fortunately, the new government allows the other point of view and social media gives space to people who want to express their alternative point of view.

Hinduism is a very adaptive and tolerant religion which gives respect to every religion and ideology but in return, others should also give mutual respect to Hinduism, otherwise, conflicts between different ideologies can never be stopped. It is a high time when the government should remove all negative syllabuses created by Britishers and communists and must introduce a new pro-India syllabus which Gandhi and Deendayal had advised which could unite India instead of creating fault lines.
