Delhi HC asks ED and IT to file probe status on all complaints against NDTV

The long arm of law has started catching up with NDTV. Delhi High Court ordered Enforcement Directorate (ED) and Income Tax Department (ITD) to submit status of probe and response in all complaints against NDTV in four weeks. This means ED and ITD have to answer what action they took on the complaints filed by minority shareholder Sanjay Dutt of Quantum Securities Private Limited, BJP leader Subramanian Swamy, journalist and financial analyst S Gurumurthy, former Chief Justice of India (CJI) R C Lahoti, former Finance Minister Yashwant Sinha, former top cop K P S Gill and whistle-blower Income Tax Commissioner S K Srivastava for the past few years.

This landmark Order by High Court is expected to give opportunity to Subramanian Swamy and Gurumurthy and other complainants to implead in the case…

This Delhi High Court order pronounced by Justice Sachdeva on January 12 evening on petition filed by Quantum Securities Pvt Ltd is a nightmare to NDTV’s leadership including Prannoy Roy, wife Radhika Roy, Barkha Dutt, Vikram Chandra and Sonia Singh, who has not yet turned up before the investigations and sending CEO K V L Narayan Murthy, who has already admitted money laundering in the TV channel. This is double whammy for NDTV from Delhi High Court, which already ordered SEBI to respond on the complaints.

This order will force CBI to Delhi Police Economic Offences Wing (EoW) which are already probing and ED and IT under Finance Minister Arun Jaitley will be forced to share their probe findings. This landmark Order by High Court is expected to give an opportunity to Subramanian Swamy and Gurumurthy and other complainants to implead in the case, which will neutralise the unholy protection services provided to NDTV by the corrupt politicians of Lutyens Delhi and uncouth friends of NDTV in Finance Ministry.

The minority shareholder Quantum Services Private Limited led by Sanjay Dutt and Sanjay Jain has petitioned to Delhi High Court against the ED, Director General Income Tax (Investigation), Commissioner Income Tax – Delhi 6, Principal Commissioner Income Tax – 6 and 7 for not acting on their complaints of the illegalities, money laundering, tax evasions committed by NDTV from 2007. The petitioners also argued that these agencies have also not acted on the complaints filed by Subramanian Swamy, Gurumurthy, Yashwant Sinha, former CJI R C Lahoti, K P S Gill IPS and IT Commissioner S K Srivastava.

“The respondents (ED and IT Commissioners) are directed to file an affidavit indicating the steps taken by the respondents on the complaints received by from the petitioner as well as from other sources (as contended by the respondents). Let the affidavit be filed within four weeks,” said the one page Judgment, which is published below.

The complaints filed by Subramanian Swamy could have lethal consequences to Prannoy Roy, Radhika Roy, Barkha Dutt, Vikram Chandra and Sonia Singh as it directly demands CBI and ED to question them as the money was laundered through the London based shell company where all these persons were either shareholders and/ or Directors. We are publishing below the complaints filed by Yashwant Sinha, CJI R C Lahoti and K P S Gill too.
