Donations for the construction of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya is estimated to have crossed Rs.2500 crore and construction is to be completed in three years. Addressing media, Shree Ramjanmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust chairman Champat Rai on Saturday said that the construction will commence from April and as per the recent bank’s estimations, the donations have crossed Rs.2500 crore and house to house visit for donations are stopped and now only online donations will only be received. He said that the total bank deposit details across the designated branches all over India are awaited.

Rai said that 10 crore households in 4 lakh villages had been approached by 9 lakh volunteers in the past 45 days fund collection drive. At present codified donation details from bank branches across the country is up to February 4.

Even as the world’s biggest campaign since January 15, 2021, for construction of the grand temple of Bhagwan Shri Ram at Ayodhya completed on February 27, 2021, it unified Bharatvarsh from east to west and north to south.

Four lakh cubic stones will be used to complete construction within 3 years. While construction has not begun, the improvement of land for the foundation will start in April. Around Rs.2500 cr have been received till 4th of March but can’t confirm the figures. We have reached 10 crore households with 9 lakh workers. He also said that lot of responses received from the north-east states and the southern states. To a query, Rai said that donations from Rajasthan are expected to be bigger than Uttar Pradesh. From Arunachal Pradesh donations estimated to have crossed Rs.4.5 crore, followed by Rs.2 crores from Manipur. As per the press release issued by the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) National Spokesperson Vinod Bansal, Rs.85 crore was collected from Tamil Nadu and Rs.13 crore donation came from Kerala.

Addressing a press conference, Shri Champat Rai, Central Vice President of Vishva Hindu Parishad and General Secretary of Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra (Trust), said today that even after the campaign the devotees, who missed this Samarpan (contribution) drive, can still make their contributions to the account of Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra through the website, viz., (the bank account details can be accessed here[1]),” said the press release.

Addressing media, Champat Rai said that they have succeeded in achieving our goal of Samarpan in 400,000 villages. Contact was also made in all the wards of the urban areas. Although the statistics of the families contacted are yet to come, but it is estimated that we have liaised with about 100 million families and Samarpan (contributions) have been received from every quarter and walk of life of society. During this drive, many such occasions and episodes also came which moved the minds and hearts of the volunteers. At many places, while even the beggars made their contributions, the daily wagers and small farmers also solemnly made their prayerful offerings. The Samarpan of the Rambhakt Muslim society is also significant. Devotees from outside Bharat are requested to wait a little more. They will be notified upon completion of FCRA (Foreign Contribution [Regulation] Act) formalities, said Rai, adding that “this month, the audit of the campaign in every district of the country would also be completed.”

Rai said that in this huge campaign, about 900,000 Karyakartas in 175,000 teams contacted the people from door-to-door. The Samarpan amounts were deposited in banks through 38125 Karyakartas. To maintain transparency of the entire campaign, while 49 control rooms were working across the country, 23 qualified Karyakartas led by two chartered accountants at the main centre in Delhi, were constantly in touch with the entire network to monitor the accounts. The app, created by Dhanusha Infotech Company of Hyderabad, did a commendable job as a meticulously-built digital network to act as a digital bridge among the Karyakartas, banks and the trust.

Updating about the work going on at the Janmbhoomi site, Champat Rai said that the foundation digging and earth removal works are almost 60% completed and it is expected that the foundation filling work will get started in the first week of April-2021.
