There was a terrorist threat during PM's recent trip to Kerala

[dropcap color=”#008040″ boxed=”yes” boxed_radius=”8px” class=”” id=””]T[/dropcap]eam PGurus have been reporting with facts and figures that Kerala, once described as God’s Own Country, has become unsafe and hazardous to Hindus. The Left Democratic Front (LDF) Government led by the Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) which took office in 2016 May has seen to it that Hindu activists are systematically murdered periodically to keep the members of the community on the edge. The last one year saw the Marxists hijacking Lord Krishna and most of the temples in the State. Lord Krishna is being portrayed by the CPI-M leaders as “Comrade Krishna” and the world’s first Communist.

Though the police asked the agitators to disburse, they did not yield and started pelting stones at the guardians of the law.

That Kerala has become unsafe as well as dangerous for even the highly guarded Prime Minister Narendra Modi was revealed by none other than Dr T P Senkumar IPS, the State Police Chief (Director General of Police). In an interaction with media at Kochi on Tuesday, Dr Senkumar revealed that there was a terrorist threat to the Prime Minister during the latter’s visit to Kochi on June 17 for inaugurating the Kochi Metro Rail. “There was a terrorist threat to the Prime Minister. We have fool-proof evidence which indicates that there was a terrorist threat to the Prime Minister during his visit to Kochi. The State Police have taken all precautions to ensure immaculate security to the Prime Minister,” said Dr Senkumar who was reinstated as State Police Chief by the LDF Government under orders of the Supreme Court.

Dr Senkumar was in Kochi to take stock of the unpleasant scenes witnessed at Puthuvypeen, a Kochi suburb on Friday, hardly 12 hours before the visit of the Prime Minister. Hundreds of CPI activists and an equal number of strange persons laid siege to the route through which the Prime Minister’s motorcade was to pass through. Though the police asked the agitators to disburse, they did not yield and started pelting stones at the guardians of the law.  Many CPI activists were seen attacking the policemen with lathis and iron rods. This necessitated the police to resort to the bursting of tear gas and subsequently a Lathi charge. Yathish Chandra, a young IPS officer, who is the deputy commissioner of Kochi Police is the new target of the Left-wing Extremists and the CPI because it was this young officer from Andhra Pradesh who foiled the attempts of the extremists to lay siege to the route through which the PM’s motorcade was to travel.

[dropcap color=”#008040″ boxed=”yes” boxed_radius=”8px” class=”” id=””]T[/dropcap]he agitation was against the newly built LNG  terminal of a public sector oil company. The CPI-M-led government had made it clear that the LNG has been built as per the specifications mentioned by the security agencies to ensure the safety of the local population, a section of the CPI and some Left wing extremist elements were agitating against the LNG terminal. Though Puthuvypeen was calm and quiet for the last couple of weeks, what shocked the police was the sudden spurt in the mass upsurge aided and abetted by unknown elements and strange characters (whose identity is in the process of being established).

The State Police Chief refused to divulge the details of the security threat to the Prime Minister.

The agitators wanted to derail the inaugural programme of the Kochi Metro rail on the next day. It was known from day one that Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan never liked the idea of Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurating the Kochi Metro. In other words, he felt that the PM was going to steal his thunder. Vijayan wanted to bask himself in the glory of the Metro, a project launched by the previous United Democratic Front (UDF) government led by Oommen Chandi. He even fielded Kadakampalli Surendran, a CPI-M minister, as a loud speaker that there is no need to invite Prime Minister Modi to the inauguration of the Metro. But this boomeranged on the CPI-M itself and Vijayan had to eat humble pie. The Metro was a joint venture between the Union and the State government. The Centre had fulfilled all its financial and technical commitments to the project while the State government is fretting and fuming while the project managers ask it to loosen the purse strings.

The State Police Chief refused to divulge the details of the security threat to the Prime Minister. “We have the relevant details and this is something which we could not divulge for obvious reasons.  We cannot treat the police force in the State as a physics or chemistry laboratory and take risks,” Dr Senkumar told the reporters who fired a volley of questions at him about the details of the security threat.

[dropcap color=”#008040″ boxed=”yes” boxed_radius=”8px” class=”” id=””]D[/dropcap]r Senkumar also asked the media to be objective in their reports and not to misrepresent facts. The Kerala media was caught with its pants down a fortnight ago when two activists of the Hindu Sena managed to infiltrate into the  CPI-M office in New Delhi and shouted slogans against the party’s tirade against Chief of Army Staff Gen Bipin Rawat.  The Malayalam media, dominated by CPI-M activists and card holding members of the party described the incident as an assault on party general secretary Sitaram Yechury. Though the aggressors, who were taken into custody by the police said that they were Hindu Sena activists, a WhatsApp group of media persons instructed all reporters to print/ broadcast the incident as an attack by the RSS on the CPI-M general secretary.

Pinarayi Vijayan, who does not miss any opportunity to ridicule the Prime Minister did not disappoint his comrades during the Metro Inauguration also.

Most of the media houses in Kerala followed the diktat issued by Sreejith, a CPI-M hardliner who works for the Mathrubhumi TV channel. The “screenshot” of the message issued by Comrade Sreejith went viral and was telecast by Janam TV, a channel with pro-RSS leanings which put all the Marxist journalists on the defensive. They retaliated by airing the news that Kummanam Rajasekharan, the Kerala BJP chief illegally got into the entourage of the Prime Minister when the latter came to Kochi for the inauguration of the Metro Rail on June 17. But the Prime Minister’s Office issued a clarification which stated that Rajasekharan was specially invited by the PMO to accompany the Prime Minister.

Pinarayi Vijayan, who does not miss any opportunity to ridicule the Prime Minister did not disappoint his comrades during the Metro Inauguration also. “We all know that the Prime Minister is always busy and he does not have time to spare,” said Vijayan.

Last heard, leader of the Kerala journalistic fraternity are pleading with Kummanam Rajasekharan not to take legal action against Sreejith, the Marxist journalist who exhorted his colleagues in the media to portray RSS as the aggressors. The last word has not been written on this.
