The honorable CM of Karnataka, Mr. Kumaraswamy,
In the opening ceremony of Dwani Surali Karyakrama where you and your wife are calling your son in public, ‘Nikhil, come here and introduce yourself’ as if you are declaring your son as future ruler of the state. It is understandable a business person introducing his son to potential customers or investors as someone who will take the reins of property but this is not a personal property you are passing along. This is a democratic state and you are a public servant entrusted to take care of the affairs of the state for a given period of time. The feudalistic and shameless public display of promoting your own son makes one sad when one thinks what goes on in the minds of Indian politicians. You are Chief Minister of state and in that role, every son or daughter of the state is your son or daughter too and it is your responsibility to provide an equivalent chance to every one of them as your own son. While the world is getting ahead and becoming smaller and smaller, where civilizations are merging with the rapid advancement of communications between cultures around the world small-minded politicians in India are using the poor and impoverished people to grab their vote by flaming up caste and other differences and continue to rule, loot and plunder for generations.
If the country prospers and advances, everyone will prosper, including your family.
Mr. Kumaraswamy, life is short, in the history of time we are all very insignificant and what remains are your selfless acts. The same wife and son cannot wait to cremate you as soon as you die and will continue their life with little memories of you here and there. Honorable CM, let us say the same son of yours goes and work in a company in the West or any other part of the country and your son is not allowed to advance in spite of his capabilities because he is brown or because he is South Indian, would you approve it? How will our country advance with so much selfishness, my family, my relatives, my caste, my region? In just 10 years, China could wipe out the poverty of over 1 billion people. The only reason the country is held down is because of this narrowness, that seemed to be in the blood of our ruling elite that today we have 500 million people living in poverty in despicable slums under shacks they call home. Every second child in the country goes to bed without having eaten a full meal for the day. We are home to one-third of the world’s poor. If the country prospers and advances, everyone will prosper, including your family. Does it make you a better person living in a palace surrounded by an ocean of poverty? Indians are going out of the country and leading multi-billion dollar business, not because of someone patronage, but due to their inbuilt strength, hard work and ethics. Tell your son to go out and prove himself without your patronage, allow him to shine on his own and you will get a better person out of him.
Reflect on what you want to leave behind? Reflect on how in no time we join the dust just as any other lowly creature. God has given us the potential to rise above the life of lowly creatures by doing larger good when we are alive. This is a country where Rama did not even blink to go to the forest because of the unfair wish of his stepmother. You visit so many temples. What do you do when you go to temples? Do you know what you are worshiping? Worshiping is not doing some ritual, follow what they stood for.

Promoting ones progeny in this or that field usually based on previous accomplishments. Karnataka CM is known to hire too many tantriks, manriks, palmists and astrologers to “save and run govt” on daily basis and promoting his son in politics is shameful. Karnataka CM saved us from his extramarital affairs with a cinema heroine and having a son with her !!
It is said politics is the last resort of a scoundrel.
Our ancient scriptures and Sanatana Dharma preaches us to follow ‘dharmic” way of life,
One should reconfirm is the Karnataka CM still running his office from a five star hotel ever since he became CM and at whose cost? State Budget was presented keeping in mind 4/5 districts dominated by his community. State wealth creation is going to one set of community only.
A man’s pride will bring him low but a humble spirit will bring honor.
When pride comes then comes disgrace but with humility comes wisdom
This is the result of western brainwashing. I see nothing wrong in parents promoting their son. Does Sanatan Dharma ask you not to do that? Do any scriptures ask you to abandon your own son in favour of some common man or woman?

A son becomes the owner of the father’s possessions but doesn’t claim a right to people’s choice..
Even his own father was not people’s choice… It was a forced decision by congress on people.
Even as I wrote my earlier comment, a big scam in US wherein wealthy people have paid big money to get their kids admitted to good schools was being published all over the newspaper pages.
