How do I read a Kindle Book on my SmartPhone or Tablet or Laptop?

Published by

Dear Readers –

First off, thanks for the overwhelming support for my book NDTV Frauds. The reviews of the book in Amazon can be accessed here.

Secondly, I am getting a lot of requests for publishing the book on other platforms… Well, you can read a Kindle eBook on your SmartPhone or Tablet or Phablet after you install the Kindle app. Kindle apps exist for Desktop/ Laptop and just about every device out there. This excellent post describes how to download Kindle app for various Android devices. You can use your browser and search for a Kindle app for your device and follow the instructions from thereon.

If you want a simplified set of instructions, here it is:

How to read a Kindle eBook on an Android based Smartphone or Tablet

  1. Go to Google Appstore on your Smartphone.

  2. Find the Search button and type Kindle. You will see a list of kindle apps. Download Kindle for Android app with Amazon Appstore. Note, only US users are permitted to download app from Amazon Appstore. Non-US users can go to their domestic Amazon site (such as www.amazon.uk or www.amazon.in) with the built-in browser and download Kindle app to the Android device (direct download link is available in these countries)…

  3. Create an Amazon account (if you don’t already have one). If you are in India create it in Amazon.in. For US residents, Amazon.com (you get the idea…). It is free and you will see that it is a very good account to have (Trust me when I say this).

  4. Launch the Kindle app. It will log you in to your Amazon account that you created in the previous step. More importantly, it knows that you are using Kindle to look at the Books section of Amazon store.

  5. In the Book Browser, search for Ahem! Sree Iyer. You will be directed to the book NDTV Frauds. You can look at the reviews (if any) and then go for a test ride by clicking on Read the free sample. Impressed (I hope), you decide to buy the book. You can click on Learn More and buy the book.

How to read a Kindle eBook on an iPhone or an iPad
