I beg to differ with Sri Sri Ravishankarji over his recommendation for an out-of-court settlement of Ram Mandir-Babri Masjid dispute.
With all due respect for Sri Sri Ravishankarji, I beg to differ with him over his recommendation for an out-of-court settlement of Ram Mandir-Babri Masjid dispute. My opposition to his idea of solving the dispute has a reason. Instead of bringing a logical end to this centuries-old dispute through a way of the judiciary – due till this month end – Sri Sri’s ambiguous peace activism seems to have something more than meets the eyes. His sudden involvement as a peace dove just a few months ago in this centuries old dispute sounds skeptical. My skepticism has a reason. I’d ask him where was he till now ? Now when the apex court is about to declare its verdict what is this fuss about out-of-court settlement ?
Sri Sri told Padmaja Joshi of India Today that, “India will turn into Syria if Ram Mandir issue is not resolved..”

There are thousands of temples in India upon which mosques have been built by Muslim invaders
This is a clear case of fearmongering. If the court gives the verdict in favour of building a Ram Mandir and doesn’t allot land to build a mosque, what will happen? Sri Sri, by his Syria comments, is indicating that if Muslims are not given a land to build a mosque in the name of Babar (the same Babar who is responsible for the deaths of a million Hindus, rapes of thousands of Hindu women and lakhs forced conversions into Islam), there will be nationwide riots and arson, a chaotic situation will arise across India. Though his fear is in the right direction, he should be confident about the capabilities of the current dispensation. Instead of being a fearmonger he should try to convince his Muslim followers and Sunni community heads who are unfortunately party to this case. India is a democracy where law prevails unlike Islamic Republics, which is itself ironically oxymoronic as when there is Islam there cannot be something like Democracy or Republic. Democracy, freedom of expression, women’s rights are things that are alien to Islamic lifestyle. Well, will discuss that aspect of Islam next time in leisure.
In India, there are two more Hindu temples namely Kashi Vishwanath Mandir upon which Gyanwapi Mosque is built by Aurangzeb in Varanasi and in Mathura this same Aurangzeb destroyed Keshav Dev Temple famously known as Krishna Janmasthan (birthplace of Lord Shri Krishna) and built Shahi Idgah which has remained untouched till I’m writing this piece. There are thousands of temples in India upon which mosques have been built by Muslim invaders and which are yet to be freed from the clutches of Muslims. Had we Hindus have to settle all of these temple issues the Sri Sri way, all we’d be left with were mosques only.
The government must make sure that any mischievous activity by fringes of both communities will be dealt with an iron hand.
Sri Sri’s obtruding in things that’s not his cup of tea will only earn him disrespect. If Sri Sri has an inclination for peacefully solving all of our Mandir-Mosque issues the Ram Mandir way, he will be welcomed freeing lands in his Art of Living International Ashram in Bangaluru for that. When the Ram Mandir-Babri Mosque matter is in apex court and verdict is about to come around this month end, Sri Sri should not be meddling in. Whatever comes the verdict should be accepted by every stakeholders. If the court order comes in favour of Muslim community, Hindu community must welcome it. But if it comes in favour of Hindu community, Muslims too must accept it gracefully. Muslims’ turning into rowdies as feared by Sri Sri will meet a strong hand of law. The government must make sure that any mischievous activity by fringes of both Hindu and Muslim communities will be dealt with an iron hand.

Fully Agree with the Writer. In fact SC must also ensure in future also with any other disputed sites No 3rd party interventions esp by any religious self proclaimed heads, as Hindus will never have courage to unite & oppose (800+ years of living cohesively is the proof ) and our politicians will never allow Castism Wade from indian politics ( Eg. Dravidian politics) with “Bharat Teri Tukde” Gang esp by Communists infested institutions.
Religious heads must be doing their Prime job than going for Peace talks in the name of society…
I disagree with writer, you have to learn from history that we have to dominate them else they will dominate us in future. What SriSri said is to unite hindus
I disagree with Anirudh’s view, because in this case Sri Sri wants to build a consensus among the both communities by an out of court settlement.The court judgement in either way would hurt the sentiments of a community.. Ultimately the goal must be peace in the country.
