Contrasting opinions within the government on crucial issues?

Is all well within the Govt on crucial issues? If not, it will hurt the Nation.

The 2014 NDA BJP victory was due to the corruption of the past regime, Hindutva forces uniting and the Nation voting for a change.

After the 2014 election results, the Nationalist agenda and correction of 70 yrs of past misrule was at the forefront. The Government took the middle path on major issues, went soft on corruption, Black Money, and sidelined Hindutva. Only on the National Security and a strong response against terrorism saw the whole country rally with Prime Minister Narendra Modi once again, returning him into power in 2019.

Recall what the UPA Congress Govt did with India Against Corruption protestors in Delhi in the darkness of night, on a valid protest venue and not encroaching the road

Thereafter a lot was expected of the BJP NDA 2.0. With Amit Shah as Home Minister, things started moving in the right direction and the abrogation of Article 370 and 35A was as per the parties’ old stand and demand. The bold decision was hailed across the Nation and it’s handling of the Jammu & Kashmir situation.

Later, Dr.Subramanian Swamy’s efforts paid off after relentlessly fighting to list the Ram Janmabhoomi Ayodhya case in the Supreme Court[1]. With a favorable verdict in November 2019, all seemed to fall in places.

The CAA which was to benefit 31,313 minority community members from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan, who underwent religious persecution and were granted Indian citizenship. A few vested organisations and especially the opposition were up in arms, citing (incorrectly) Article 14. The minority community in India which will not be affected in any way with the CAA was instigated to agitate. Protest march rallies were organised and violence was seen in many places. In UP and Karnataka, the Govt was swift to curb the ugly uprising. In Delhi with assembly elections fever, a lot of dubious dirty combinations were tried. Shaheen Baug was the experiment with a well-planned strategy sinister design[2]. With funding pouring in from unknown sources, the illegal protests continued as per the gameplan. The opposition and team were successful in its activities in Delhi.

The protest at Shaheen Baug conducted on the main road was totally illegal. It was putting common people into a lot of difficulties. Demand was made to shift the venue to some other ground and continue the protest. But the idea of conducting protest on the street was to test the Govt. The Govt fell into the trap, with a lukewarm response.

The Home Minister allegedly wanted to handle the situation head-on and clear the roads, but was advised from the top (PMO Office?) to go slow. Tough measures could have sent a strong message across and could have been avoided, what we are seeing in Delhi now. Recall what the UPA Congress Govt did with India Against Corruption protestors in Delhi in the darkness of night, on a valid protest venue and not encroaching the road. In the bargain, the agitators took the soft approach as a weakness. The recent communal flare-up is in continuation of the CAA protests.

The difference of opinion in handling CAA protesters will send the wrong signal across. The Home Minister should be empowered to lead from the front and take the right decision in the interest of the Nation.

Another folly with the Govt and the ruling party is that their official spokesperson fielded for debate on electronic media are mediocre without any substance nor are convincing. In fact, there is another leader from the party who is not the main spokesperson, doing prodigiously well on TV channels with debates and conducting meetings across the country on the CAA Hindutva Economy Nationalist agenda. Also, many non-BJP member freelancers on electronic media and Social Media are doing a better job in defending the Govt and its policies.

The difference of opinion in handling CAA protesters will send the wrong signal across. The Home Minister should be empowered to lead from the front and take the right decision in the interest of the Nation. The same goes for other Ministries too; 2 senior ministers are extremely aloof, with their body language doing the job of speaking. They seemed left out and do not seem to be participating in joint decision making. In Democracy collective decision will go a long way in the path to success.

The area of focus at the moment is the economy which is in dire straits and requires immediate Specialist attention. The Corona Virus worldwide scare will add up to our already crumbling Economy. Call it mismanagement or whatever, we are on the verge of an economic collapse.

In the interest of the Nation, I appeal to all, to jointly come together and work with an open mind, take some tough strong measures on all fronts.

  1. Hi Natraj,
I want to understand CAA better. You seem to know CAA best as you have called for tougher measures against the protesters, the kind Amit Shah is capable of.

    1. Can Religion be one of the “Constitutional Parameters” for India Citizenship?
    2. Why are Christians not part of “Excluded Religions” in CAA?

  2. Typical Swamy ploy thro his sources( he is too much of a coward to come out in the open)to drive a wedge between the top two functionaries of the govt. People should see thro his games.

  3. Nice…

Recently read about an old lady talking in English n an IAS officer posting it in social media…
    I really was surprised..
Is knowing English a standard for knowledge that all Indians are making it a viral post..
English can be taught from fifth standard…
Mother tongue education is a must for India to grow into a super power…

All plant and animal kingdom survive well in their natural habitat…
But we humans work on to create an artificial habitat for our own race… Which will result in chaos…in future…
Knowing any other language is just a skill … But not knowing ones own mother tongue is a sin…to mankind…

How will we grow when we keep promoting videshi ideas ..

    Same applies to BJP…
When we have swadeshi ideas and swadeshi people it will grow…
When BJP looks for advisors with western thoughts they lose their core values…

Bjp was never bothered about power those days..only values were important…

Now before every election they want some kind of surgical strikes…

They are scared to control missionary schools which use up government grants and produce hate factories…

Revoke all British grants to missionary schools …
Atleast future will be safe from anti-nationals…
