Why isn’t India angry to see images of a 14-month-old Pari, the youngest to be hit by splinters?

Pari received splinter injuries on her neck and spine

[dropcap color=”#008040″ boxed=”yes” boxed_radius=”8px” class=”” id=””]A[/dropcap]t a time when images of bullet ridden corpses of eight SIMI men, suicide by an ex-serviceman over poor implementation of One rank one pension (OROP) scheme is hogging all the headlines images of a 14 months old Pari, youngest victim of cross border shelling, has been ignored by the politicians across the vast political spectrum.

Ever since these shells landed in the civilian areas of Samba sector popular voices of human rights activists and their sympathizers in the mainstream political parties of India have been muted.

In the last 24 hours as eight civilians lost their precious lives in intense Pak shelling along the International border and the line of control in Samba and Rajouri districts no one spared a minute to sympathize with the young parents of the 14 month old Pari, struggling for her life in the Government Medical college hospital in Jammu. Two minors and four women lost their lives in the fresh escalation on Tuesday.

Pari was playing in her own house courtyard after celebrating the festival of ‘Bhaiya dooj’ when a mortar shell exploded in her house and she along with her two cousin brothers and aunt received splinter injuries.

Pari’s parents and grand father were also hurt in the random firing by the Pak rangers. In a matter of just few minutes four of her family members including two minor boys, five year old Abhi and seven year old Rishav, succumbed to their fatal injuries. Her aunt Anju Devi and grand father Maru Ram too failed to survive one of the deadliest cycle of mortar shelling.

[dropcap color=”#008040″ boxed=”yes” boxed_radius=”8px” class=”” id=””]N[/dropcap]o hue and cry has been raised in the TV studios nor debates were planned to debate the sufferings of the human population suffering in isolation due to continuous shelling in the forward border areas by the Pakistani troops. In contrast to this when children were affected by the pellet gun injuries and several youth lost their eye sight lot of noises were made and efforts were made to ban the use of pellet guns. Even expert team of eye specialists were flown in and seriously injured patients were airlifted for better medical care facilities to different destinations.

Pari had received multiple splinter injuries on her neck and spine…

Ironically, no prayer meetings are being organised, no candle marches have been taken out and no hands have gone up to pray for the innocent angel struggling for her life in the Government Medical college hospital in Jammu.

Pari had received multiple splinter injuries on her neck and spine and instead of receiving emergency treatment precious 24 hours were wasted by the doctors before operating on her.

Daughter of a serving Indian army jawan she kept shuttling between the military hospital and Government Medical College (GMC) hospital till midnight on Tuesday. After wasting precious hours she was operated in GMC on Wednesday.

According to Medical Superintendent of Government Medical college hospital Dr Romesh Gupta, “next 48 hours are crucial for Pari and we are closely monitoring her condition”.

He said she underwent gut surgery as she had received critical splinter injuries. Her mother, sitting by her side on the hospital bed urged the countrymen to pray for her long life. She said we had already lost four members of our family now we want to save our daughter and do not want to lose her.

Pari’s father, Rakesh Kumar, is himself admitted in the Military hospital. He attended his father’s funeral and performed last rites with the help of his colleagues on Wednesday. He could not stand on his legs due to splinter injuries on his legs. Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti is meeting delegations in Kashmir valley and yet to pay a border visit to meet the victims families and address the genuine issues of the border residents.

  1. In continuation to my reply yesterday please permit me to add a few more lines as anguished views expressed by a senior citizen in the twilight zone of life.Even today if i were given a gun and asked to patrol the fenced border i would gladly do so so that a young pari could sleep and play peacefully,Raga and his ilk and AK47 and his band of thieves instead of giving a helping hand at this our term of trial are stirring the unbalanced mind ( they are totally unbalanced themselves) of genuine people to save their skins from total disaster awaiting them at the hands of Dr Swamy. They are sharing sympathies with terrorists, murderers,Simi activists, caste politics, all just for the lust of office and looting the treasury as they did for more than 60 years. They have no time for Pari or the women killed at the border villages,or for the jawans who have laid down their lives for our beloved motherland. And yet they shed crocodile tears for one jawan who killed himself as a coward. There are hundreds of people who deserve better pay packets or senior citizens trying to make both ends meet.Ask the looters what they have done with the loot of T ‘puram temple ? where did more than 200 solid gold vessels vanish from the opened vaults ?Any answers Sir ?Give time and support to a dedicated PM,we will have results in time,

  2. Of course India is angry and expects different action unlike in 1948, 1962, 1965 (returning captured strategic high grounds without POK vacation after sad demise of Shastriji), 1971 (releasing all P O W s after feeding them free for an year without POK retrieval ), or 1998 (getting surprise attack).
