So the cat is out of the bag…finally. Bindu Kalyani, the woman who was the face of protest against the ban on women’s entry into the sacred Sabarimala temple of Lord Ayyappa, has confessed that her husband was converted to Islam by the Muslim fundamentalist Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) !! She was tortured when the SDPI persuaded her husband Kamal to convert their daughter Bhoomi also into Islam. Bindu, who refused to convert, has stated that her husband was bribed by the SDPI to embrace Islam. She has complained to CM Pinarayi Vijayan of the CPM against the SDPI. But, given Vijayan’s tacit support for the SDPI, it is anyone’s guess if he will act on her complaint.
Bindu’s complaint also unveils the hidden fact that the pro-entry Sabarimala protest was manufactured by the SDPI. Thousands of burkha-clad Muslim women stood on the highways demanding women’s entry into Sabarimala temple. The irony was that they themselves are at the receiving end of highly regressive patriarchal laws. And here they were talking about women’s rights!! It is not without significance that the petition favouring the entry of all women into Sabarimala temple was spearheaded by an NGO headed by a Muslim. Also, the women petitioners themselves had no locus standi; a point noted by Justice Malhotra of the Supreme Court in her well-reasoned dissenting judgment.
The SDPI, which is posing a threat to Hindus and also progressive Muslims in Kerala, is being backed by the CPM and other parties as a part of their sick vote bank politics.
Be that as it may, the Bindu incident gives rise to the strong suspicion that the entire Sabarimala campaign has been masterminded by Islamists, many of whom belong to the Saudi-funded Wahabi sect.
Kerala is increasingly becoming a hotbed of fundamental Islamic activity and the SDPI, whose sources of funding are unclear, is at the vanguard. Earlier, it was Abdul Nasser Madani, who enjoyed the patronage of most of the political parties in Kerala barring the BJP, who was in the forefront of Islamic revival in Kerala. In fact, when the rabble-rousing Madani was arrested a few years ago in connection with bomb blasts, the Kerala legislature passed a unanimous resolution demanding his immediate release on parole.
Now the SDPI, which is posing a threat to Hindus and also progressive Muslims in Kerala, is being backed by the CPM and other parties as a part of their sick vote bank politics.
There is an urgent need to probe the SDPI, its sources of funds and its activities just as it was done in the case of Zakir Naik. Else, Kerala may go the Kashmir way. It may become Allah’s own state.

SDPI is a threat not only to no-Muslims but also to liberal and progressive Muslims on he state. It is a Talibanised party whose aim is the spread of Islamic agenda. Members of this party chopped the palm of a professor for framing a question paper that ‘offended’ them. They are dangerous and the party must be banned. Unfortunately, the political pimping adopted by the Communists gives them some leverage in Kerala. The Centre is waiting for the right moment to ban the party.
Author seems to be interested in creating mini kashmirs in the country. He is talking about a state which has historically been untouched by the brutal communal riots seen in the country and also nearly no bomb blasts.
