Kerala Police catches a fraudster using DRDO’s fake identity card and fooling people in Delhi

Published by

In the corridors of power, one can see a number of touts and imposters regardless of which political party is in power. One such interesting and shocking case is the arrest of a tout Arun Raveendran who was operating in Delhi, caught by the Kerala Police. He is a native of Kerala. The shocking thing was that this Arun Raveendran is seen in some Ministers and media offices in Delhi and was known as a Scientist in sensitive Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO). Now Kerala Police found that this imposter was a ninth-class-fail and was fooling people by using a fake DRDO identity card and now languishing in his home town jail in Kozhikode district in Kerala.

The circumstances that led to his capture are funny. Arun Raveendran (36) who married a year ago claiming to be a DRDO Scientist had a picked up a fight with his wife and left for Delhi. Losing touch with her husband, the wife wrote to the DRDO about the absconding of her husband who had left with her entire gold ornaments worth several lakhs of rupees (which he got as dowry). She also complained to the Kerala Police about the absconding husband. The DRDO headquarters in Delhi communicated to the Kerala Police that they have no such staffer.

Kerala Police have also seized the fake identity card of the DRDO created by Arun Raveendran and even Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) fake call letters during a raid at his home.

Then Kerala Police swung into action and arrested Arun Raveendran on May 21 and all of a sudden the dam waters broke loose! When the news came out in the local media, many people filed complaints that this fraudster has taken a lot of money from them promising jobs, tenders, and work assignments in Delhi. Many complained to the Police that they have seen him frequenting Union Minister V Muraleedharan’s office and the ruling party BJP’s office and even in the RSS offices and seen around many leaders from Kerala working in Delhi. According to the Police, Arun Raveendran is a typical fraudster frequenting power circles and ruling party offices to get things done and collecting money from pliable people.

Kerala Police have also seized the fake identity card of the DRDO created by Arun Raveendran and even Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) fake call letters during a raid at his home. Many letter pads of several organisatons were also found in his custody. Entry passes of many Government Organisations in Delhi were also recovered from him. He was also seen with many media persons in Delhi and was also seen VP House, the Parliamentarians’ quarters. He was also found to be involved in liquor bottle sales sourced from Defence Canteens.

Many Congress and CPM leaders in Kerala demanded that central agencies should also be involved in this fraudster’s case as his main activity was in Delhi. At present, he is languishing in Kozhikode Jail in Kerala from the last week of May on charges of cheating wife, creation of fake identity cards and fooling people offering jobs, etc.

  • Fraud id documents. Fraud degree certificates right to the top.
Wonder where honest citizens are headed and where the country is also headed!

  • This case may appear trivial but it tells that there is no difference between Congress / UPA rule and the NaMo rule (In a lot of areas).

It is high time that the rules of politics change in India. We now have one leader from each party being projected as the only one, which is very detrimental to the democracy and the real growth of economy.

India grows only through Narendra Modi's leadership, Indian business has to go through only Reliance group, Adani group, and a select few others - if these are not changed, India may not be able to sustain the present level of economy, forget about reaching China & USA levels.

  • PGURU should concentrate on larger issues. Yes this is a interesting case but not of national interest. write an article about National herald from beginning to end and what is the status of the same. I am some times fed up as the case goes on ..on... and on in courts with no end visible. As that case is of national importance and that too Sonia and Rahul directly involved, PGURU should make an article on the same.

  • Brokers and Touts like this will concur who ever in Power by money and supply of women. BJP and RSS are not an exception.

  • "He was also seen with many media persons in Delhi and was also seen VP House, the Parliamentarians’ quarters. "

How lax is the security? It's pathetic that these places can be so easily infiltrated.

  • If someone claims to be from an organization, let them email you using their organization email address and respond with a code word or 6 digit number.

Then call their phone and ask for the code you emailed them. It's not foolproof but will catch most of the imposters.
