India summons Singapore’s envoy over PM Lee Hsien Loong’s remarks

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has raised strong objections to Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong‘s adverse comment about Indian MP’s and it has taken up the matter with the Singapore High Commissioner in Delhi.

The MEA stated, “The remarks by the prime minister of Singapore were uncalled for. We are taking up the matter with the Singaporean side.” According to MEA sources, the Singaporean envoy to India, Simon Wong, was called to the MEA on Wednesday regarding PM Lee’s February 15 remarks about Indian MP’s in their parliament.

Earlier, Lee Hsien Loong had said while participating in a Parliamentary debate that the politics around the globe is changing and people’s trust in the political class is dwindling.

Lee made these comments during the debate on the Committee of Privileges’ report on complaints about untruths told by former Workers’ Party lawmaker Raeesah Khan.

But while doing so, he also stated that many parliamentarians in India face criminal cases now. “Nehru’s India has become one in which, according to media sources, over half of the Lok Sabha MPs face criminal accusations, including rape and murder. Though many of these claims are claimed to be politically motivated,” Loong had said.

These remarks haven’t gone down well with India.

Lee said that everyone should maintain and expand the system that Singapore has inherited. “Things start off with passionate intensity. The leaders, who fought for and won independence, are often exceptional individuals of great courage, immense culture, and outstanding ability. They came through the crucible of fire and emerged as leaders of men and nations. They are the David Ben-Gurions, the Jawaharlal Nehrus, and we have our own too,”

“This necessitates upholding honesty, enforcing norms and standards, applying the same rules equally to everyone, and ensuring that no one is above the law. If we can do it consistently, relentlessly, and unflinchingly, we might be able to make things work. The people can have faith in our leaders, systems, and organizations,” he had said.

  1. India is NOT a democracy.

India enshrines inequality under law in the Constitution, laws and courts to steal from some, mainly the Savarna and the Brahmanas for the benefit of others such as politicians, bureaucrats, police, judges, sc, st, bc and obc.

As for Prime Minister Lee’s comments, as regards India, they are accurate, and is a matter of shame for any decent Indian of whom the numbers continue to dwindle under the relentless onslaught of Indian “Governance”.

I endorse his comments wholeheartedly as any patriotic and nationalistic Indian would.
