Israel was WRONG in retaliating with such ferociousness; after all the poor people in the “jail” that’s called Palestine were “only expressing their despair”! Yes, they did so with rockets but to bring out the entire mighty arsenal the Israelis had, was WRONG! They converted Palestine into a “prison” and now are bombing the daylights out of them!! THIS IS JUST WRONG! Well, the question that came to mind (my warped mind, anyway) when I heard these statements was “How did they get rockets inside a jail? Nearly 3000 of them!!!” The fact remains that, whether one is pro-Israel (like yours truly) or pro-Palestine (like the liberal media), there is no way one can justify the killing of innocent victims on both sides.
Let’s step back one tiny step and see the landscape around us. Israel, a land that is probably the size of Rhode Island and surrounded by “unfriendly” countries, has to fight for their existence on a daily basis. How does any country justify the violence perpetrated against Israel on a nearly daily basis? I heard one genius, a so-called expert, refer to this retaliation from Israel as “disproportionate violence”!! Really? A land of about 9 million, surrounded by nearly 8 times that population and supported by 57 countries, retaliates and that’s disproportionate? What about the incessant claims by countries like Iran to push “the Jews into the sea?” That’s, I guess, purely rhetoric!
For those readers that are unaware of Palestine and Pakistan’s checkered history, the former dictator, Zia-Ul-Haq, had allegedly slaughtered more than 25,000 Palestinians back in the 70s. Now, that country’s conscience is, all of a sudden, awake and functioning!
Never have I ever understood the liberal media, especially those sitting 5000 miles away in India! These people, probably sitting in the luxury of their mansions, sipping on wine and smoking god knows what, have become the decision-makers on a country fighting for its survival?? The truth is, these people are catering to a certain section of the populace and would say ANYTHING to ensure that section of society is happy!
The truth about that area is rarely discussed. Let’s take a look at the history of Israel and the countries in that neighborhood. Prior to 1948, countries like Jordan didn’t exist! Immediately after WWII, the bruised and battered, but victorious, British Empire created four different states, Israel, Palestine, Lebanon and Jordan. These countries didn’t exist prior to 1948. Prior to that, pre-WWII, the Jewish population lived around the European continent, as also other countries, but were subjected to genocide. The British gave the Jewish population a country to call their own! One, where they could live without being subjected to genocide and humiliation that they suffered till then. The countries surrounding this tiny country didn’t want any of that and bandied together to wage war against Israel. In fact, in the 1967 war, also called The Six-Day War, more than a half dozen of these countries waged war against Israel! AND LOST!!! Yes, THIS AMALGAMATION OF COUNTRIES LOST!!! Does that say anything about the Jewish resolve to survive! You bet! Does this speak even more about the countries that fought against them!! Oh Yeah!!!
In the 1973 war, Israel beat Egypt (whether people claim there were no clear winners or not). Anwar Sadat had to bow down to the Israeli might! How does this reflect on the Jewish state? For those that claim the Israelis won because of American support, yeah so what? The Arabs had joined together and had pooled in their significant resources against a country that was not even a quarter as rich! If the Americans supported the state of Israel, the Soviets were firmly behind the Arabs. Two superpowers taking the sides that they ideologically supported! How did that pan out?
Let’s look at the Indian viewpoint in this regard. Most, if not all, Indians are biased, whether it is pro-Israel or pro-Palestine! Most of the Hindus, whether they admit to it or not, are pro-Israel. Most, if not all, Muslims are pro-Palestine. Again, they may not admit it, but this whole divide is based on community. For a country that is close to 5000 miles away, this is not something that is happening in India’s neck of the woods, and not even remotely connected to this issue, Indians would do well in reading about this issue rather than base it on religious affiliation!
The leftist media, in India, does play the communal card enough in local issues, but taking this internationally is showing themselves in very poor light and taste! Not that they’ll refrain, just because a small-time writer, like yours truly, said so! I could understand the “nuclear” neighbors to India’s immediate west taking the side of Palestine! In fact, I would be shocked if they didn’t! Many of you are aware that Saudi Arabia and the UAE have NOT said a single word in favor of the Palestinians, and rightfully so have they have not backed Israel! In fact, they’re truly “non-aligned”, as India is. In this case, India being non-aligned is definitely, in my opinion, not the right thing. The issue should NEVER have been about religion but should have been about right and wrong! The truth is, the Palestinians launched the first attack. The rockets launched by the Hamas were directed at civilians in Israel. One Indian lady, Soumya Santosh, lost her life while talking to her husband, via a video call! These rocket launching sites were, unfortunately, based in civilian areas. When retaliatory strikes came, and, as expected, unfortunate civilian casualties occurred, the Palestinians played the victim card. What did the leftist media expect? Did they expect the same reaction that India gave when Nov-26 (11/26) happened? Dossiers being exchanged? The Israelis value every single life in their country, unlike India, pre-2014!!
It would serve the Indian leftist media to become more centrist and look at the issue neutrally rather than subject their viewers/ readers to biased and obviously massaged opinions! Before they subject Indian viewers/ readers to their biased opinions, they should ask themselves two simple questions: How would I react, if my loved ones were in Israel? Would I accept the message I’m giving out? My opinion is, they would still cater to the community that pays their bills! Let’s hope I’m wrong!!!

It was reported that ICJ called Israel to behave and this tiny brave and bold nation rebutted ICJ to mind its own business when Israel, which is not a member of the court and rejects its jurisdiction!

Amid the corona virus pandemic in April 2020, and thereafter three consecutive elections in less than a year, Netanyahu and Benny Gantz were able to establish a unity government with rotating prime ministership where Netanyahu would serve first and later be replaced by Gantz. Israel normalised relations with four Arab League countries:- the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain in September 2020 (known as the Abraham Accords), Sudan in October 2020 , and Morocco in December 2020. Former President Donald Trump deserves a Noble Peace prize.

I strongly feel that WB State CM Mamata, Delhi CM Kejriwal, Kerala CM Vijayan, Maha CM Uddhv and Punjab CM Capt Amarinder Singh and their foreign funded supporting media of all shades must be taken to Israel to show them how a tiny nation defends bravely its territory and its people 24/7/365 days since 14 May 1948.
