Peddling dubious narratives on Delhi violence

Parody of justice to put the BJP leaders whose statements were unpleasant but not anti-national in the same basket as that of the break-India gang, who have no respect for the country’s Constitution.

Parody of justice to put the BJP leaders whose statements were unpleasant but not anti-national in the same basket as that of the break-India gang, who have no respect for the country’s Constitution.

The ‘secularists’ have preferred to play down these Delhi violence incidents and have continued to train their guns on the BJP.

Two questionable narratives are being peddled by the ‘secularist’ lobby in the aftermath of the Delhi violence which claimed more than forty lives. The first equates BJP leaders Kapil Mishra, Pravesh Verma and Anurag Thakur with the likes of Sharjeel Imam, Waris Pathan, and Umar Khalid. And the second narrative argues that these BJP leaders are responsible for the Delhi tragedy.

If the ongoing Shaheen Bagh protest is considered justified, although it is in a public place, is not in a designated place for agitations, and has caused great inconvenience to the general public, how would be a counter-protest elsewhere be any less justified?

There is no doubt that the statements of the BJP leaders were far from responsible. They were in bad taste and avoidable — this much has been said by senior party leaders including Minister for Home Affairs Amit Shah. However, let’s dispassionately look into those remarks. Kapil Mishra had spoken out against the protests that suddenly broke out on the streets in the Jafrabad area of Delhi during US President Donald Trump’s recent visit to this country. He asked the police to clear the area, failing which he would lead a drive to do so once the US President left India. He did not have to do so since the protests promptly ended with the conclusion of the President’s trip.

In any case, Mishra did not say that he and his group would resort to violence to achieve their goal. He was most probably hinting at a counter-protest to pressure the authorities. If the ongoing Shaheen Bagh protest is considered justified, although it is in a public place, is not in a designated place for agitations, and has caused great inconvenience to the general public, how would be a counter-protest elsewhere be any less justified? Is seeking an end to blocking roads and causing mayhem, isn’t this wrong? And yet, Mishra might have come across as aggressive. Similarly, both Verma and Thakur could have been more careful with the remarks they made.

That said, how can they be brought on par with Sharjeel Imam, who made a clear anti-national statement, when he threatened to cut off the North-East from the rest of India? Or of Waris Pathan, who said that “our 15 crore people” would outdo the “100 crore people”? He may have taken his remark back or lamely suggested that he was not referring to Hindu or Muslim, but the statement reflected his mindset — and that of his party, the AIMIM. Incidentally, his party chief Asaduddin Owaisi was present during that hate speech but did nothing to object. On the contrary, he later defended Pathan. It was not the first time that AIMIM leaders resorted to brazenly communal remarks. Many months before, the party chief’s brother Akbaruddin Owaisi had said that his community would teach the Hindus a lesson if the police were to be withdrawn for just fifteen minutes. It is a travesty of justice to put the BJP leaders — whose statements were unpleasant but not anti-national — in the same basket as that of the break-India gang.

The second narrative of blaming the three BJP leaders for the Delhi violence stretches the imagination. Their remarks in the run-up to the Delhi Assembly elections, while the violence happened almost a fortnight later. Many days after those remarks and in closer proximity to the violent incidents, came the provocation from Umar Khalid and the others. And these are just the most publicised ones. Videos have surfaced of an assortment of Muslim clerics, spewing venom on the Prime Minister and other senior BJP leaders, and threatening them with physical harm. One of them recently said ominously that his community knew how to disrupt communal harmony. Not surprisingly, the ‘secularists’ have preferred to play down these incidents and have continued to train their guns on the BJP.

It needs to be underlined that the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) is just an excuse; the real aim of the protestors is to incite hatred against the Modi government, defame it in the eyes of the people not just in India but across the world, and demonstrate the power of the minority.

A video has recently surfaced of former IAS officer and activist Harsh Mander, who said at a gathering that people had to come on the streets since neither Parliament nor the Supreme Court had protected their rights. If this defiance of constitutional authority and the highest court of the country is not provocation, what is then? The break-India gang has no respect for Parliament, for the apex court, for the police, for the law and order machinery — and yet they are waging an agitation under the banner of protecting the country’s Constitution!

Speaking of provocation, recall what senior Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar said: That the fight is between the right-thinking people and “that murderer” — Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Also recalled the remarks of former Congress president Rahul Gandhi — that the Prime Minister would be assaulted with sticks if he comes out of his home, in case unemployment was not checked. There is no need at this stage to go into the various other provocative statements Congress and other opposition leaders have made in the past.

Whether this lobby accepts it or not, the fact is that the Shaheen Bagh protests have been the real trigger for all the gloomy incidents that have taken place. Inflammatory slogans were raised there and everything that happened subsequently is a direct fallout of Shaheen Bagh. Had those protests been handled with an iron hand when they began, perhaps the Delhi violence could have been averted. It needs to be underlined that the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) is just an excuse; the real aim of the protestors is to incite hatred against the Modi government, defame it in the eyes of the people not just in India but across the world, and demonstrate the power of the minority. While it is true that the Shaheen Bagh protestors come from various communities, it is equally a fact that the main script has been written and directed by certain leaders from the minority community. They remain in the background — which is why, when asked who their leaders were, the protestors have no answer. These agitators keep demanding a dialogue with the government, but where are those representatives the government is supposed to talk to?

  1. Most of the time it is the BJP leaders who make provocative statements first and when opposition leaders respond, then the government friendly media channels and BJP IT cell sponsored Cyber and Social Media warriors start cribbing that the opposition leaders are indulging in the abuse of BJP leaders. Let us take the example of PM Modi making a statement, as CM of Gujarath, that the petrol price has become equal to the age of PM Manmohan Singh when he was 74 years old. When petrol price reached 90, a Congress leader said that petrol price has reached Modi’s mother’s age. The moment he made this statement, Modi said “Meri Ma Ko Gaali dete hain” and the Sanghis, their supporter and friend media channels pounced on the leader saying that he has insulted the PM. The fact is that we have never seen a PM like Modi leading from the front in using vituperative language during election speeches. The law of nature is that you will get back what you give though what Modi gives to his opponents is much more provocative and lethal. God save our nation.

    • Please brush up your madrasaa English before commenting as you cannot spell Gujarat . By the way there is Gujarath in Pak Punjab.Your last statement is true. You will get back what you give. What jehadists are doing my country, they will get it back. Do you understand the meaning of lethal and you are accusing Indian PM as lethal ? God is already saving my nation and I don’t understand which nation you are referring to.

  3. The Central Govt made a wrong assessment that 70 days long anti CAA protest by Muslims would fizzle out on its own. This is from the beginning an anti national movement not self inspired protest, but cajoled, pushed, instigated and financially supported by anti India forces and ably aided by Congi-Commie tukde tukde gangs, to ensure communal riots in Delhi. Why Central Govt is not invoking Sedition charges against Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Vadra, Sashi Tharoor, Mani Shankar Iyer, Thirudi Raja, Sitaram Yechuri, Harsh Mender, etal for their down right ANTI NATIONAL INFLAMMATORY SPEECHES, which egged the protestors to first BLOCK the National Highway and further resort to attacking & killing the guileless Hindus and wanton destroying their cars, motor vehicles, houses, shops &properties, distinctly marking their Muslim supporters properties with NO NRC. The Muslims unruly behaviours went to the extent of targeting Law enforcement agencies, they klilled Police Personnels with impunity, burnt their vehicles, cars, damaged fire fighting vehicles etc. ALL THESE BECAUSE they were assured of Protection by Congi-Commie-AAP desh drohi politicians.
    WAY FORWARD. :-

    1. No protest shall be allowed to be conducted in Public places by any groups for indefinite period. Protest in a designated area may be allowed with severe restrictions that too with Prior Permission from Law enforcing agencies. Person / Organisation / group seeking permission for protest, MUST make a written statement before DM/SP that in the event of any loss to public and / or private parties, that the same will be recovered by attaching the Person / Organisation / Group seeking such permission and permission for protest with a condition without affecting the convenience of general public. These include religious functions and social events such as Marriages, funerals, Birth day parties etc.

    2. No prayers on public roads, pavements, encroachment of parks and other public utilities. If no space is available in a particular place of worship, then the believers shall do prayers in their respective houses that too without causing nuisance to the neighbours.

    3. In criminal issues such as RIOTING, KILLINGS, KIDNAPPING, VANDALISING PUBLIC/PRIVATE PROPERTIES, the onus of proving innocence MUST be borne by the Accused persons AND the Prosecution / State need NOT have to prove the guilty of accused in Courts of law. Our Criminal laws are to be amended accordingly immediately, through an ordinance, if Parliament doesn’t function in the second leg of Budget session.

    4. VICTIMS must be compensated adequately by the State by auctioning / attaching their properties including their PPF deposits etc perpetrator of Criminal offences.

    5. Courts should NOT give any Pre-arrest Anticipatory Bail to the notorious accused persons.

    6. UCC with strict Population Control Laws MUST be brought in immediately. The GoI should act like the PM of Australia in opposing their anti national activities.

    7. Conversions MUST be banned all through India. Muslims would like to enjoy the fruits of our Civil laws and resort to love jihad, four wives, etc Which MUST be STRICTLY banned. Sharia in Criminal Matter MUST be employed for MUSLIMS ALONE to contain their Nefarious & anti-national activities.

    8. Art 25 should be modified that Muslims Christians can practice their religion freely, subject to public order and they must NOT be allowed to propagate their religion. This is the very cause of social tention in our Country.

    9. Finally, Muslims MUST understand, when Jinnah said we can’t live with Hindus harmoniously, for that reason he demanded Pakistan for Muslims, which all Muslims from Kashmir to Kanyakumari supported. Once Pak was created, Nehru & MK Gandhi deliberately stopped the exchange of population as articulated by Great visionary Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar, the result of which Hindus are suffering now. MUSLIMS must be told in no uncertain terms, that they demanded Pakistan, resorted to Direct Action during 1932 to 1947 and ensured Partition of our Country on religious ground. If they want to live in India, they MUST give up jihadi mentality and live in harmony with the Hindus, with the same laws & regulations and not deceive the people saying Ganga-Jamuna_Tazeeb.

    10. I once again repeat Sonia, Rahul, Priyanka, H Mender, S Yechuri, D Raja MUST be put behind bar for perfidy and seditious action. They must be tried for waging war against Nation, which attracts DEALTH PENALTY.

  4. Obviously Delhi Riots Were Engineered. With Blessings Of Congressees. No Doubt.Off Springs of Multiple Parents Has No Way Of Proving Themselves For CAA/NPR/NRC registrations. All Those Guys Holding Out Open Threats Whipping Up Emotions Should Be Dumped Into The Ocean.Without Mercy.

  5. BJP members are showing too much of self-righteous indignation. Anyone opposing BJP is branded as leftist, socialist and communist without even knowing what these terms mean. All BJP spokespersons and supporters indulge in heavy whataboutry. When you talk about recent Delhi riots where 50 people (and counting), immediately our attention is drawn to 1984 riots. It looks like 50 people dying in a riot is nothing compared to the number of deaths in 1984 riots. Congress has been thrown out of power and replaced by BJP for a reason and this fact itself should prevent BJP members from indulging in Whataboutry. TV channels sold out to the government day-in-day out come out with convoluted debate titles where the Opposition is left defending its past mistake while current issues caused by BJP are totally forgotten. Also, the anchors of these TV channels do all the talking with BJP spokespersons having nothing to do. Is this good for democracy? Also, articles such as this try to give an escape route to BJP members indulging in hate speech and spreading of fake news. All democratic institutions are looking vulnerable. EC did not have the guts to take action on PMs violations of model code of conduct and this has encouraged many BJP members to talk whatever they want in public safe in the knowledge that no action will be taken. This is an era of servant leaders or Chowkidars. Many European PMs cycle to the parliament. But in India, people in power still get VIP treatment. History will repeat itself. We will have many more riots as long as we use words like motor mouths instead of criminals who indulge in speeches even with a slight hint of hate.

  6. File FIRs against each one of the BJP members including the home minister. No one is above law. The EC should have filed cases against many politicians for violating election model code of conduct including the PM. The biggest form of corruption is to condone hate speeches of various intensities to show that people in power are above law. An articles such as this that seek to water down what BJP people did and magnify what opposition people did itself is not in national interest.

    • Either you are a Modi hater or a Muslim using Hindu name. You have accused Modi of violating model code a sweeping statement without facts.

While you have shamelessly accused BJP politicians, your cowardice nature shied away from naming Muslim leaders and politicians who used worst language against elected PM , Hindus and BJP leaders. You have suggested filing of FIR against home minister. Why don’t YOU file a case in police station, instead of wasting your time commenting in this site.

  7. A narrative is being set out to blame BJP leaders like Kapil Mishra and Anurag Thakur for blame game deliberately to hood wink the strategy and role played by communalist and their inciters which led to unfortunate Delhi communal flare up. Days before Rahul said that “Narinder Modi will be beaten by youth” and expressed his solidarity with Anti CAA protestors.
Sonia Gandhi exhorted people to take to streets to fight for Yaar ya Paar.
As it was not enough Priyanka Vadra also incited people against Govt.
Shashi Tharoor and Iyer also added fuel by addressing moslem women in Shaheen Baugh.
Assad waist his brother and warsi pathan have been giving provocative statements and raising tempers of moslems and heightening communal tensions.
Umar khalid, sharjul imam ,the tukde gang their mentor in JNU and imams elsewhere had been preparing ground for a long time for a show down.
Where is the intelligence of the country. Why these fringe elements were not arrested and exposed by Govt.
Why open propagation of “Ghazvi hind” one more communal partition done by the communal molvis was not put to end in the bud.
Why congi political leaders of Gandhi- Vadra dynasty be not tried for provoking anti nationals for a show down.
And lastly what should be the punishment for “desh ke gadhoron” ko. This slogan is not new. It has been existence since sixties as far as I remember. Should such elements be honoured. And how it reflects on minorities.
What is wrong in Kapil Mishra urging police to get roads cleared within 3 days or his threshing for taking out pro CAA rally.
One thing is very clear that elements opposed to Modi Ji can go to any extant to destabilise the country.
Shaheen baugh is deliberate attempt to incite moslems against Govt and a part of a bigger plot.
Swami Ram Deva sit in was smashed during night raid by police brutally by UPA.
But why Shaheen baugh is not being smashed?

  8. The so called secular media is peddling its pet agenda of destroying the image of India by targeting Modi Govt since it came to power. The media dominated by the Left-Jihadi brigade who have little faith on democracy which they are using as a tool to achieve their respective targets. The Shaheen Bag is a well designed strategy by national and international saboteurs to undermine India’s growing image and economic heft. With a series of decisions going against their vested interest they had to find some issue to galvanise the Muslim minorities on a platform along with their posterboy Dalit Messiah to show to the world during Trump visit that everything is wrong in India. We must not be surprised by their diversionary tactics to blame BJP leaders leaving all other serious offenders as this been their long tested strategy. Challenging Parliament, Supreme Court, Election Commission etc which are the pillars of our democratic structure is a well planned strategy to sabotage national integrity which many of their proponents like Arundhati Roy, Harsh Mander etc are openly professing as their democratic rights. Opposition political parties are steering from behind and inciting from time to time to keep the flame burning. Any strong action at this stage would create mayhem which they sorely wish to happen. Hence caution is key word.

  9. I don’t understand how statements of Kapil Mishra, Parvesh Verma, Dilip Ghosh and Amit Shah cannot even come under the BJPs definition of anti-national statements. Can BJP only define what kind of statements or activities are anti-national? Kapil Mishra saying that Delhi Election will be an Indo Pak match is not in national interest. It threatened to sabotage democracy by sowing seeds of fear in the mind of voters that voting for Kejriwal is akin to supporting Pakistan. Parvesh Verma saying that protesters at Shaheen Bagh will rape Delhi voters’s wives and daughters is again a statement at blackmailing the voters that if they don’t vote for BJP, Shaheen Bagh’s protesters despite Amit Shah’s Delhi police will indulge in rape. This statement is a direct assault on the “Free Will” of people to vote for their candidate of choice and a criminal effort to sabotage electoral democracy. Bengal BJP president Dilip Shah’s comment saying why Shaheen Bagh people or people who support them die is exactly what happened in Delhi riots that killed 50 people. May be Kapil Mishra got inspired by his statement and threatened in front of TV cameras with Police DCP standing next to him and threatened to clear the site of the protesters forcibly after Trump’s visit taking the law on his own hands disregarding the police. And the worst anti national statement of all comes from country’s home minister Amit Shah who said that Delhi Voters should press the EVM machine button so hard that protesters in Shaheen Bagh will get electrocuted. Voting machine button could be an allegory for the trigger of a pistol. The home minister’s statement cannot be interpreted in any good way. It was an attempt to encourage people to cause harm to the protesters and their supporters. This again is an anti-national act. This article is defending the indefensible. Brushing aside statements such as the above as just an irresponsible act from motor mouths itself is an anti national act. BJP supporters should know that before pointing a finger on others on being anti national 3 fingers point at them for being anti national…

    • Your hatred for BJP and Hindus is transparent.
      1) you are suggesting that BJP leaders are anti national. A joke. If they are anti national, then who are nationalist.
2)who ever abuses the natives ( Hindus ), their religious practices and talk filth against nation in international forums and who collide with enimies of nation to abuse mother land are anti nationals.
      3) Kapil Mishras comment is against slogan ‘ Jinnah wali aazadi ‘ slogan. He used his democratic right of freedom of speech. By the way why are you offended when pak name is mentioned in cricket match ? This proves you not an Indian.
4)You are distorting Pravesh Vermas comments. First, he spoke at a election rally and was later warned by EC. In fact 5 years ago in an election rally in Hyderabad, Owaisi stated that if police are removed for 5 minutes, Hindus will be butchered. After many bickering, K Kumar Reddy then Chief minister filed a case, against wishes of congi high command. Here Verma quoted the facts from Hindu genocide in Kashmir where minority community women were raped and killed.
      5) Amit Shah during election rally stated that when you press voting machine button, the result should shock Shaheen Bagh protesters.
      6) what will you do when 100 squatters, sit in front of your house and block your movement ? You take a stick and beat them out. What K Mishra has done is a bold act. The same paid burqa clad women protesters of S Bagh started blocking road at Jaffrabad. Mishra gave 3 days time and pleaded with protesters to remove road block, as police were inactive.
      7) There are 20 motor mouths who abused my motherland and my religion and my PM, a filthy cowardly act. Understand India is for Hindus and law abiding minorities. Hindus were forced, abused and blackmailed to give separate country to Muslims and things have gone too far.

If you hate India, and the government, you are welcome to migrate to a country of your choice. When you post next time, show enough courage to project your original name.

  10. Party in power has to be more responsible. These motor mouths do no good to the mage of BJP because they speak like Owaisis of BJP. The riots were caused by motor mouths on both sides but the image of BJP took a beating and anti Hinduta forces are rejoicing that they got a life line. With economy in dumps, Modi-Shah duo needs to concentrate on bringing back economy on to the rails. Riots will only consolidate anti Hindutva forces. By the way Hindutva does not mean talibanization of Hindus by Hindu Owaisis. Hindutva means promoting Hindu culture and preservation of it from the onslaught of Muslim and Christian fundamentalists. Not creating Hindu mullahs.

    • Why don’t you post using your original Muslim name ? Another common name used by jehadists is INDIAN. There can never be Owaisi among Hindus and please brush up your madrasaa English. By the way, can you provide biography of Owaisi ? Hindus never promote culture, but preserve culture by hailing Vande Mataram and Bharat mata ki Jai. There are neither mullahs nor fatwas in Hinduism. Don’t preach Hinduism to Hindus and that too in this site.
