Let me add something.He was the first PM who built inter village roads in remote hills which were non existent in NE, mainly in Manipur state, similar story to the last electrified leisang village as Modi did. I still meet local engineers praising Deve Gowda even though they ate up almost all the money Gowda gave.May be his village root could feel the pain of a village not having a proper connecting road.
When his party denied him PMship Jothi bazu angrily said appoint some ghoda . And the people mistook ghoda as gowda,
Indians also know that he was sleeping most of time …
A simple man with lots of common sense. The turn of events that brought him to be India’s Prime Minister did not last long enough to give him a significant run. Anyone who followed him, would remember his farewell speech at the centre.
