Subramanian Swamy urges speeding probe in Aircel-Maxis scam, citing US agency report on Dayanidhi Maran accepting bribe from Maxis

Published by

Citing the recent Suspicious Activity Report (SAR) of US Government’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) publishing details of former Minister Dayanidhi Maran accepting bribes from Maxis, BJP leader Subramanian Swamy urged that Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and Enforcement Directorate (ED) should speed up the probe on Aircel-Maxis Scam. In a detailed letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Swamy said that many people tried to hush-up the scam and Malaysia’s Maxis Group also have money trails with NDTV, which was also unearthed by Indian agencies. Swamy accused that the controversial Spice Jet exchange resulted in the saving of Maran from the Aircel-Maxis case.

Swamy citied the SAR report of US agencies saying bribe money came to Maran from Maxis subsidiary Astro Overseas Ltd. NDTV also received from the same Maxis subsidiary, Swamy said the transfer of many honest officers from the ED, who tracked down these money trails has hampered the investigation. “Not only Mr. Maran got a bribe but his subsequent escaping of prosecution is connected with the “throw-away” sale of Mr. Maran’s owned Spice Jet Airway. As a consequence, Mr. Maran was acquitted in the Aircel Maxis but Spice Jet Airways came to be owned by a close associate of one of your former Ministers.

“Now with the revelation of the US Government’s FinCEN, it is urgently necessary to once again kick start the moribund Aircel-Maxis scam investigation and prosecution by the CBI and ED, without the bureaucracy hampering the investigation,” said Swamy, detailing the how the dubious transfer of Spice Jet by Marans to Ajay Singh sabotaged the probe in Aircel-Maxis case[1] .

  • 2G case shall be completed in the next 3 months or so. But whether Raja, Kanizmozhi...etc will be in Jail or not we dont know. But that case is likely to finish in 3 months I heard. But curiously some cases gets delayed beyond reasonable period.

  • I do not understand why Dr Swamy sir has to write to PM for speedy hearing of this bribery case. The matter is already in the courts .it is the duty of the concerned investigative authorities to move the courts and obtain justice from the courts . As a citizen, is it not my Moral right to expect that the Govt which I had voted for, brings the culprit to justice or exonerates in case there is no truth. The Investigative agencies should work with a time frame. They cannot drag on and on.
By writing to PM it looks as if PM is holding up investigation.or am I missing something in this.

  • No matter who takes the Reign and sit on the saddle, all Netas be it BJP or Congress or their Associates, they are ALL hand in glove covering for each other to share the loot and Protect themselves. Dawood Ibrahim continues to maim, taunt, challenge, ridicule going scot free to control the financial capital of India and control the pulse of India from abroad for well over 25 years. Modi- Doval duo could do nothing about it over the last six years. Next Rahul, Sonia, Chidambaram, Sharad Pawar, Mamata B. ever ready to needle the Central Admin. from all sides. To protect, their As (Arun Jaitley, Adani, Ambanis, Ajay Singh) in the Winning A Team, BJP has kept quiet and never Charged and proceeded full speed with mega corruption scams of big Congress bigwigs but make it a empty blabber as election stunt to fool the majority of uneducated masses. Corruption, Black money, Scamming, Conning is the very way of life in India perpetrated from the TOP and it is never going to change. Sree Iyer can release several e-books, but they have zero impact.

Let us not expect anything positive from the BJP lead NDA government due to elections early next year also due in Tamil Nadu state and BJP needs DMK on its side if AIADMK performance badly!!!

If something else happens to form the government in TN State next year the BJP will surely needle Maran et al to fall in line to forms a government with few BJP MLAs !!

Incumbent majboot sarkar has been slow and or not interested in probing scams Dr. S.Swamy should understand. BJP prefers tainted men and political parties around to run its Government. Talent is alien to neo BJP/RSS leadership.

  • Whom should we blame?
We are not able to the corrupt to tame
They with us play hide and seek game.
What is the uses of charges we frame.
    Whom should we blame?
    The lawyers see the Loopholes
Many seemed to have sold their soul
Jointly together loot as a whole.
Judiciary seems to be full of holes.
