The Dalai Lama is 85 years old. Does India understand the importance of that?

Chinese are the most ruthless and intelligent, just waiting for the Dalai Lama to die, to nominate their own puppet Dalai Lama

On July 6, 2020, His Holiness the Dalai Lama turned 85. I scanned the entire internet looking for any mention of this extremely important event – but in vain! There was mention of the birthday of actor Ranveer Singh (who?) – But absolutely nothing about the Dalai Lama and Tibet.

Do India and the BJP government of Narendra Modi understand the extreme importance of that event? The Dalai Lama may be the last chance for India to regain a friendly border between herself and the Chinese enemy – and time is running out. You do know, I hope, that out of the 40,000 or so km of border with China, nearly 3300 belong to Tibet! Tibet was always a friendly and peaceful buffer between the two giants of Asia. When Nehru allowed China to take over this tiny nation, he committed one of his biggest blunders – and India is still paying the price for it.

Why the hell can’t India say that Tibet is a disputed territory? Why cannot the BJP government of Narendra Modi allow for instance the Dalai Lama to do teaching in Ladakh, where he has thousands and thousands of followers – right under the nose of the Chinese?

The Chinese, who are most ruthless and intelligent, are just waiting for the Dalai Lama to die, to nominate their own puppet Dalai Lama, the way they named a “Panchen Lama.” Then it will be not only the end of the possibility of free Tibet, but from a geostrategic point of view, India will have to face in the coming decades not only a hostile border with China, without the buffer of Tibet, but also the disadvantage of China swooping down from the heights of Tibet onto India’s valleys as it did in 1962. Did you also know that according to the CIA, China has placed many of its nuclear warheads in Tibetan caves, where they escape the scrutiny of satellites and that many of them are pointed towards Indian cities? We also know that most of South Asia‘s great rivers are born in Tibet and that China is building many dams upon them, depriving India and many other countries of this precious water.

Thus the importance of a free Tibet has never been so crucial to India – especially at the time of extreme tension with China on many fronts, whether Ladakh, Bhutan, Arunachal Pradesh, Kashmir, or even on the sea, in the Indian Ocean. But do you think that the higher bureaucrats of the External Affairs Ministry of India can understand that? No, not at all. Their minds are frozen in the Nehruvian thinking that one must compromise with China at all costs. It was so in the 50s, it was in the 60s, 70’s, 80’s, 90’s and it is still true unfortunately today. They have not learned that the Chinese always pretend to negotiate – while preparing for war.

Who will then grasp that the 85-year-old Dalai Lama, a Nobel Peace prize winner, is India’s most powerful weapon against China? Firstly, his very name makes the Chinese shake with anger and they lose – for once – all common sense; secondly, India should respond tit for tat: China sayings are that Kashmir is a disputed territory; China claims Arunachal Pradesh; China has taken over swaths of Indian territory, whether the Aksai Chin, and bits here and there in Assam, Ladakh, Sikkim or Bhutan. Then why the hell can’t India say that Tibet is a disputed territory? Why cannot the BJP government of Narendra Modi allow for instance the Dalai Lama to do teaching in Ladakh, where he has thousands and thousands of followers – right under the nose of the Chinese?

Indeed, India without knowing it has with His Holiness, not only a friend but also a Yogi, the spiritual and temporal head of Tibet, as an important ally – and it is high time that the Prime Minister uses that dharmic weapon against China. We may quote here Sri Aurobindo, India’s great revolutionary, poet, philosopher and avatar who was also a prophet and wrote in 1949: “The significance of Mao’s Tibetan adventure is to advance China’s frontier right down to India and stand poised there to strike at the right moment and with right strategy… We must burn it into our minds that the primary motive of Mao’s attack on Tibet is to threaten India as soon as possible.

Happy Birthday your Holiness. May God grant you a long life! May Tibet become free again, so that India regains a peaceful neighbour that will be a buffer between her and the Chinese dragon. Are you listening Mr. Prime Minister?

  • I think India is doing alright. Moving step by step is the correct approach. We have limited resources and a large population to provide for. Modi Government is needs to strengthen itself into an unassailable nation. Besides, historical wrongs cannot be rectified by hasty actions. Plunging into war games when economy is not in good shape cannot be regarded prudent policy.

  • The entire India, with the exception of Corrupt Congress Communist combo, will enthusiastically support Modi if he demands liberation of Tibet and installation of Dalai Lama as the Spiritual Head of Tibet. In addition, all western powers will rally behind India’s Clarion call. It requires true Courage, Capacity, Consideration of exercising one’s Conscience and the will to exhibit Collegiality to Protect a defenceless neighbours. Yes, agree the spiritual Leadership of Tibet promoted and kept the powers unto themselves and denied the well-being for the poor. Same has been the case with mainland Chinese Communists. If India does it, One can jolly well say the dirty Dragon, the Chinese Communist warlords, are annihilated in their central Tianenmen Square. It is either Now or Never. If you don’t contain the Dragon, it is bound to pick up momentum an strike back later for sure. Is Modi truly gutsy , strong and fearless Gir Lion King? While writing this, one is amazed to see the infrastructure development Chinese have invested in buildingTibet. It is indeed huge but it is all a part of the big plan to covert, intrude, take over by stealth PoK, Bhutan, Nepal. India needs to be gutsy to blow the conch come what may. It has liberated Bangladesh. Time so Nepal, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Maldives begin to bow their head in reverence to India and accept as a sure, strong, smart, soft but an emerged superpower big brother they can rely on with full confidence. It is doable, feasible, possible, plausible achievable. Does India stand up for world Peace instead of everyone getting to pieces?

    • India liberated Bangladesh and showed our nuclear abilities under the leadership of Indira Gandhi. In spite of the brief dark period of emergency she is responsible for, she was a great leader during whose time India achieved food self sufficiency. The present government's objective is to stand on the shoulders of INC past achievements and claim them to be their own. Modiji for all his support base cannot reach the determination and planning of Indira Gandhi or Narasimha Rao or Manmohan Singh. Why did Modiji have to meet Xi so many times in the last 6 years. Xi fooled him. Modiji will be remembered for this as well as demonetization mistake, hasty GST implementation and improper Corona pandemic handling.

  • Not only we lost the buffer zone border of Tibet to China in 1949 due to the folly of womaniser Jawaharlal Nehru, we are doing the same mistake of turning a blind eye to China's claim on Bhutan's teritorry, whose external relations and border security is handled by us-India. Now China openly said they are having territorial dispute with Bhutan and no third country [ i.e. India ] can intervene in the dispute. To counter China, we should cast away one China policy. Dispute Annexation of Tibet by forceful occupation as unlawful and we should not recognise Tibet as an autonomous region of China, not withstanding the folly of Jawaharlal Nehru & A B Vajpayee recognising that as part of China. When China Kashmir is disputed territory & Arunachal Pradesh is their their part, we can also change our stand. There is no autonomy whatsoever there. We should openly say Tibet and Taiwan are independent Countries. We are still blind folded to the coming events, which portends more danger in our vicinity. Using the international outcry on Wuhan China Covid19 Virus, we should launch a final assault on China, which will trigger a world war in which USA, Taiwan, Japan, Australia, Vietnam, Mianmar, Brunei, Philippines will join in support of us with men and materials against China. If we miss the golden opportunity, at a later date, no one will give even a word sympathy to us. STRIKE THE IRON WHEN IT IS HOT. ALL IS FAIR IN LOVE & WAR.

  • You are absolutely right!! Very good article. India has betrayed Tibet in the past and it is continuing to do so. Although, Indian administration should be blamed, not the Indian people, but the way we have forgotten them makes us responsible in some way. Even I didn't knew it was Dalai Lama's birthday. A belated happy birthday to him.

  • ..true..the vulture is waiting

this one of a event ..
    Dalai Lama s birth day.
we wish him a longer Life !!
those things will be easy for India during his presence .
this an indirect reminder goi to review our foreign policies.

  • I think that India's foreign policy is no longer with the Prime Minister and External Affairs Minister and the Cabinet. Probably being controlled by some Gujarathi Baniya
