Mani Shankar Aiyar at it again

Published by

Aiyar projects “fundamental secularists” like himself as defenders of the present Constitution while he makes the RSS and the BJP appear as organizations which are out to subvert it.

India’s most constipated intellectual Mani Shankar Aiyar is at it again. Writing for the scam-ridden NDTV he said he fully endorsed fellow Congressi Shashi Tharoor’s warning of a Hindu Pakistan in the making under the aegis of the Sangh Parivar.

I would like to ask Mani if he was upholding the Constitution when he openly sought the support of Pakistan to overthrow the Modi regime?

In the first place, the concept of a Hindu Pakistan is a sick contradiction in terms. Pakistan is an irretrievably failed non-state while Hindu is a suave symbol of success.

Aiyar regurgitates for the nth time the hate and venom he has for legendary patriots like V.D. Savarkar and Guru Golwarkar. His ranting only demonstrates how badly constipated his brain is.

He says if Modi is allowed to have a two-thirds majority in Parliament next year then he will, with the support of pliable states, amend the Constitution to usher in Hindu Rashtra. He goes on to say how the judiciary will be persuaded to ignore its obiter dictum in the Keshavananda Bharati case which dealt with the basic structure of the Constitution.

Aiyar projects “fundamental secularists ” like himself as defenders of the present Constitution while he makes the RSS and the BJP appear as organizations which are out to subvert it.

I would like to ask Mani if he was upholding the Constitution when he openly sought the support of Pakistan to overthrow the Modi regime? In fact, I would fault the Modi sarkar for not hauling him up for sedition. When three lakh Hindus were violently ejected out of the Kashmir valley was the Constitution being upheld? When Constitutional mandates on a uniform civil code and ban on cow slaughter are vehemently opposed by men of Aiyar’s ilk, are they upholding the Constitution? The Modi govt took the first baby steps towards social reform when it tried to ban the reprehensible practice of triple talaq prevalent among Muslims. Aiyar’s party effectively blocked the historic measure.

Aiyar selectively quotes Babasaheb Ambedkar to says how a Hindu Rashtra will be calamitous. But he conveniently ignores Ambedkar’s searing indictment of the Muslims. In fact, Ambedkar’s book on the Partition slams the community with rare candour. But Aiyar chooses to ignore Ambedkar’s views on Muslims because they strike at the very root of the belief system of “fundamental secularists” like him. In fact, Ambedkar had even called for the relocation of all Muslims to Pakistan.

After Partition Pakistan declared itself an Islamic nation and Bangladesh did ditto after its creation in 1971. Hindus continue to live under a democratic Constitution though they and their icons are being subjected to repeated ridicule and attacks by the likes of Aiyar with an eye on the Muslim vote bank. A Hindu Pakistan is as much a chimaera as an intellectually honest “fundamental secularist.”

  • s balakrishnan as wonderfully exposed this hypocrite moron of Mani chakkar .... wonderfully dissected

  • I quote Divya Kumar Soti's tweet a few days back "Hindu pakistan Hindu taliban : See the irony, To brand Hindus as extremists they are forced to borrow terms from Islam because Hinduism has no synonymous terms. Hinduism has never created a pakistan or a taliban or a caliphate."
