Pakistan not even sparing dead resting in graves

Soldier martyred in Nowshera, several civilian houses suffered damages due to heavy mortar shelling by Pakistan army

The Pakistan army has gone berserk. For the last couple of days, they are resorting to heavy mortar shelling targeting civilian pockets along the Line of Control (LoC) in frontier Rajouri and Poonch districts.

On Thursday, an Indian soldier succumbed to his fatal injuries while a civilian was rushed to a nearby hospital with splinters embedded in his shoulder. The soldiers were deployed along the LoC in the Nowshera sector. So far around 1300 incidents of ceasefire violations along the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir have been recorded since January 2020.

Local residents in the area alleged, due to the heavy volume exchange of firing they cannot step out of their houses and not take their livestock for grazing in the high hills.

According to local residents in the Khari Karmara area of Poonch, “Pakistan army is not even sparing dead, resting in graves.” According to them, several shells landed in the close vicinity of a local graveyard and few of them blasted close to graves of their loved ones in ward no 4 of Khari Karmara on Tuesday. After firing in the area stopped, they rushed to cover the graves as mortar shells had created big craters in the graves.

Family members blamed Pakistan for resorting to unprovoked shelling in the area and not allowing them to cultivate their fields. On June 1, three heavily armed infiltrators were neutralized by the alert troops while foiling a major infiltration bid in the Kalal area of Nowshera.

Two days later, another terrorist was neutralized in the Kalakote area of Rajouri. Meanwhile, massive searches were going on in the area along the LoC in Mendhar sector following reports of some successful infiltration bids by heavily armed terrorists. In continuous exchange of firing along the LoC in Rajouri and Poonch sectors, several civilian houses too have suffered damages in Nowshera and forward areas of Poonch.

According to ground reports, the Pakistan army resorted to heavy shelling in the Nowshera sector of Rajouri early Wednesday morning. In the heavy exchange of firing several civilian houses suffered damages and thickly forested areas caught fire along the LoC in the Nowshera sector. Local residents in the area alleged, due to the heavy volume exchange of firing they cannot step out of their houses and not take their livestock for grazing in the high hills.

In Jammu, Defence Spokesman, Lt-Col Devender Anand said, “early Wednesday morning around 7.30 a.m Pakistan targeted civilian areas in Nowshera sector damaging civilian houses. In the evening, Pakistan initiated unprovoked ceasefire violations by firing with small arms and shelling mortars in the Balakote sector.” He said the Indian army retaliated befittingly.

  • Ten fire voilations especially in this sector means eans that the terrorists are not as succesful as they wish to be. Cease fire voilations in this sector means the Pak Army has to show its people that they are earning their living by keeping their people starved.

    • Colonel, isn't the solution to invite Israel and create a Iron Dome shield like they have?

Also meet incoming fire with massive retaliation like Israel does?
