Rajini’s Raja-Neethi

Rajinikanth with his brand of People connectivity should ideally fill the vacuum in Tamil Nadu politics

On December 31st as the superstar, Rajinikanth announced his entry into politics: One of the Jokes going round in social media world is “Normal people go to Party on New year’s eve, Rajinikanth forms a party on New year’s eve”. Last two years have been very significant in Tamil Nadu political landscape, with Jayalalitha’s re-election as Chief Minister followed by her hospitalization and her death. This was followed by the Jallikattu protests, M.K.Stalin being appointed as Working President of DMK, Rebellion of O.Pannerselvam, conviction of Sasikala in the disproportionate assets case, Narendra Modi meeting Karunanidhi and Sasikala’s nephew TTV Dhinakaran’s victory in the controversial R.K.Nagar by polls.

Superstar Rajinikanth’s entry into politics has provided a much needed fresh air of life into the depressing Tamil Nadu political ecosystem. The language spoken by him at the launch of his political party was that of positivity, transparency, accountability, good governance, spirituality devoid of caste and religion. In his speech he rightly pointed out the present environment of Tamil Nadu politics by stating that “Earlier Kings would loot the country and the people invaded by them. Now in the name of democracy, politicians who are coming to power started looting their own people. It is time for a change.”

Lutyens media in Delhi have been mute about the part-time politics of Rahul Gandhi who is heading a 150-year-old National party.

The iconic Rajinikanth’s political entry is similar to another superstar from South N.T.Rama Rao who came into politics in the neighbouring Telugu speaking Andhra Pradesh when the political and social conditions of Andhra Pradesh had deteriorated and who had reminded the Telugu people of their social respect and bought social, political revolution through his party. We could expect a similar trend in Tamil Nadu politics with the arrival of Rajinikanth with his brand of self-respect, transparent, spiritual politics than the divisive politics of Communalism, Caste, and Corruption.

Meanwhile, the Lutyens media in Delhi have been talking about Rajinikanth to a part-time politician. In fact, they have been mute about the part-time politics of Rahul Gandhi who is heading a 150-year-old National party and the harm which is caused by them being mute in not talking about the part-time politics of Congress President Rahul Gandhi.

Globally movie stars who entered politics have always made a difference.

Rajnikanth is better connected to the people of Tamil Nadu through his medium (Cinema and his Fans). Globally movie stars who entered politics have always made a difference. The long list of successful politicians who were movie stars include the Ex-President of USA-Ronald Reagan, Arnold Schwarzenegger –Governor of California, Member of Parliament from Canada- Jean Lapointe, Tina Keeper and not to forget the Ex-Chief Ministers of Tamil Nadu- M.G.Ramachandran, Jayalalitha.

Rajinikanth through his connection with the people of Tamil Nadu and in understanding the local dynamics through his personal annual interaction with his fans should make him a better leader in addressing the problems faced by Tamil public than any seasoned politician.

Ideal politics requires leadership and spirituality. Both promote responsibility which inspires people to follow. A good leader walks the talk, takes responsibility and inspires people around to also walk the talk and take responsibility. Rajinikanth with his brand of People connectivity and Spirituality should ideally fill the vacuum in Tamil Nadu politics with his sense of responsible leadership rather than family held leadership or caste, communal based leadership.

Wishing Rajinikanth and the people of Tamil Nadu a bright future.

  • After all is said and done, there is definitely hope in the minds of people who want the corrupt Dravidian political clan, moved out and Rajini is definitely talking the right language..

  • Ultimately iyou are hoping gainst hope. Why do you bring Congress into the picture. As if BJP is not playing
the political card of Caste. Communalism and Corruption. How corrupt was JJ that you are comparing her.
