CPI’s Annie Raja slams Rahul Gandhi over contesting from Raebareli constituency
CPI leader Annie Raja slammed Rahul Gandhi saying, he should have earlier informed the people of Wayanad that he will also be contesting from Raebareli Lok Sabha constituency.
Wayanad went to the polls on April 26 in the second phase of the Lok Sabha elections.
With Rahul Gandhi choosing Raebareli over Amethi this time, it seems that the Gandhis have given up a constituency considered to be their bastion.
“He should have shown the political morality. He should have informed the people of Wayanad about Raebareli. It is not acceptable that he kept this away from the people of Wayanad,” said Annie Raja.
She is the wife of the CPI General Secretary D Raja and and was a surprise choice of her party, as CPI is part of the I.N.D.I.A bloc.
The Congress organizational network in Amethi was torn to shreds in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
The candidature of Kishori Lal Sharma from Amethi may not enthuse the party workers sufficiently even though he has been frequenting the constituency in the absence of the Gandhis.
