Two men are arrested, and a pick-up truck carrying explosives is seized in Rajsamand, Rajasthan. Police recovered 981 gelatin sticks, 93 detonators, and a safety fuse from the vehicle, intercepted during a blockade.

Acting on a tip-off, a police team stops the truck at Trinetra Circle in Rajsamand during a security check at Trinetra Circle. The seized explosives include more than 100 cartons containing explosive shells, along with a 30-foot safety fuse.

The suspects, Bhagwat Singh and Himmat Singh, both residents of Rajasthan, are detained after failing to produce the mandatory permits and documents required for transporting explosives. The vehicle is confiscated as part of the operation.

Speaking about the seizure, Deputy Superintendent of Police Shipra Rajawat from Nathdwara confirms the details. “Based on inputs from an informant, police set up a blockade and stopped the pick-up truck. We found 100 cartons of explosive material, 981 shells, 93 detonators, and a 30-foot fuse. The driver and his associate are unable to provide the required documents, leading to arrests and seizure,” she says.

Authorities suspect the explosives are being transported for mining activities, noting the region’s large concentration of marble mines that commonly use such materials for industrial blasting. However, lack of documentation is triggering an investigation into possible illegal transport or regulatory violations.

A case is registered and a detailed probe is underway, police say, as forensic teams and investigators work to map the origin, intent, and supply route of the materials.
