
The senior BJP leader will oversee the Education Ministry in addition to his existing portfolios after President Murmu accepted Pradhan’s resignation
Senior BJP leader Pralhad Joshi was on Saturday given additional charge of the Ministry of Education after President Droupadi Murmu accepted the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan, according to an official notification.
The order stated that the President, acting on the advice of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, accepted Pradhan’s resignation and assigned the Education Ministry to Joshi in addition to his existing responsibilities.
“President Droupadi Murmu, as advised by the Prime Minister, has accepted the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan. Further, as advised by the Prime Minister, the President has directed that Pralhad Joshi, Cabinet Minister, be assigned the charge of the Ministry of Education, in addition to his existing portfolio,” the notification said.
Pralhad Joshi, a senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Lok Sabha MP from Karnataka’s Dharwad constituency, currently serves as the Union Minister for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, as well as New and Renewable Energy. He will now oversee the Education Ministry until further orders.
