TMC Minister Udayan Guha ‘threatens’ protesters
Amid the chilling reports of the gruesome rape and murder of a Doctor in Kolkata, incidences have surfaced revealing what critics describe as the authoritarian nature of the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) government.

TMC Minister Udayan Guha has made a shocking statement saying, “Break the hands of those who are raising fingers.” Guha has threatened protesters as outrage over the Kolkata horror has intensified.
Guha’s statement has received backlash from the BJP. Shehzad Poonawala, National spokesperson for the BJP slammed the TMC government saying that the statement by Guha reveals the TMC’s mindset. They are trying to erase evidence and suppress the truth.”

Meanwhile, many social media handles had received notice from the Kolkata Police over questioning on the horrific incident.

‘Bengal has failed its women‘: Guv CV Ananda Bose
West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose has said, “Bengal is not a place safe for women. Bengal has failed its women. Not the society but the present government has failed its women folk. Bengal should be brought back to its pristine glory where women had a respectable place in society…Women now are scared of ‘gundas‘ this has been created by the government that is insensitive to this issue.”
In the statement of the deceased doctor’s parents in the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital rape-death incident, he says, “I respect the sentiments of the mother. The law will take its course.”
