Police personnel are pillars of great support, guiding citizens through challenges and ensuring safety: PM Modi on Police Commemoration Day
On the occasion of Police Commemoration Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded the relentless dedication, and termed the police personnel “pillars of great support”, adding that their unwavering commitment to service embodies the “true spirit of heroism“.
PM Modi took to ‘X‘ to pay his tribute to the police force. In his post, the PM said, “On Police Commemoration Day, we laud the relentless dedication of our police personnel. They are pillars of great support, guiding citizens through challenges and ensuring safety. Their unwavering commitment to service embodies the true spirit of heroism. A heartfelt tribute to all the personnel who have made the ultimate sacrifice.”
Notably, October 21 is observed as Police Commemoration Day across the country.
Paying homage to martyrs on the occasion at the National Police Memorial, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that there has been a 65 percent reduction in terrorism, extremist attacks, and Naxalism in the last decade due to brave police personnel. Mr Shah said this after paying tribute to the martyred soldiers at the National Police Memorial in Delhi on the occasion of ‘Police Commemoration Day. He said the government has not only made strict laws but also modernized the police to maintain the policy of zero tolerance against terrorism.
Shah said the border security and internal security of any country cannot be possible without alerting police personnel.
