The last famous Ram Mandir was built by Ramadasu, a.k.a. Kancherla Gopanna in Bhadrachalam on the banks of sacred Godavari. Being the Tehsildar he saw the dilapidated condition of the mandapam built by one Dhammakka, a forest-dwelling woman, and spent about some six lakh varahas (Currency) to construct the present structure. Enraged by this unnecessary expenditure the then ruler of the Golconda Empire, Abul Hasan Qutb Shah, also called “Tana Shah” imprisoned Ramadasu. According to history (we can’t say incidents involving Nawabs and Nizams folklore or legend), Lord Rama, along with his beloved brother Lakshmana appeared in Shah’s dream and repaid the amount… He woke up to find six lakh Rama Mudras (gold coins with Rama’s inscription). Then he released Ramadasu and sought forgiveness.
Three centuries later, another Ram Mandir is being constructed in the place where the Lord took the human form. If it was one Ramadasu who suffered torture at the hands of Tana Shah, many other Ramadasas suffered torture in the hands of present-day Tana Shahs. Well, let the bygones be bygones. Now, the temple is coming up.

The Bhoomi puja ceremony is just a baby step in the journey to a society where justice is served and rulers are as impartial and unbiased and as self-critical as Rama. It is said during his rule no kids died before their parents. In the present day of the epidemic that is a wish, everyone would be having. Lord Rama is above politics, fame, knowledge, and wealth. May he continue to inspire all of us.
Even Priyanka Gandhi Vadra was now blessed by the Lord. She now declared to the world (that’s what a princess do) Lord Rama represents national integrity and cultural confluence. Good for the Lord. Finally, he got a certificate and his divinity was acknowledged by the self-proclaimed first family member. Still, it is good to know she knew of Lord Rama. I pray to the lord he continues to bless her with an aptitude so she can discriminate between good and bad; truth and false.

A very good movie is in Telugu depicting the life of Ramadasu and his visions of Raama and the role of Tani shah, Hyderabad ruler. In fact Raama spent most of his Aranya life in Andhradesa in which Dandakaranya is located. He spent time on the banks of Tungabhadra, Godavari and Krishna river banks. Bhadrachalam temple has a museum where ornaments made by Ramadasu and a gold coin necklace presented by the Nawab to Raama are displayed.
Since Ramadasu was released, on every Ramananavi day, a kalyanam is performed in the temple and during the ceremony, the nawabs were sending pearls to be offered as TALAMBRALU. After the state was formed, the State govnt was sending pearl talambralu usually carried on head by the CM or endowments minister and this offering continues even now. During current lockdown, the talambralu were presented by endowments minister of Telangana. This is not a folklore or a legend involving nawab and why a non believer nawabs used to send talambralu.
Another prominent place of Raama worship is Mantralaya in AP, abode of saint Raghavendraswami who went into jeeava samadhi in 17th century, who was Prahlada in earlier birth and whose guru is 5 faceted Anjaneya. Here moola Raama is worshipped daily since Raghavendra Swamiji time. The legend is Raama stayed at mantralaya ( manchala village ) located on the banks of river Tungabhadra.

Many temples were constructed and destroyed. A glorious temple is an invitation to Babar like men who are in plenty in India to destroy and loot. Already Muslim law board and some fanatics have said that come what may Masjid would be built meaning the Ram temple will be destroyed, This is a mindset of Muslims who are the illegitimate progeny of Muslim rulers. While I do not oppose temple rebuild why give an opportunity for the vandals to destroy? A simple Temple would be in order.

Let us imbibe the example of Ram and stop doing pooja to his imagined portrait. we must rever Charita i.e Conduct of Ram and give up doing pooja to his Chitra i.e portrait which is imaginary
