Three terrorists killed in Operation Mahadev, search Ops continue in central Kashmir
In a significant anti-terror operation, three terrorists were neutralized by security forces in a fierce gunfight in the Lidwas of Central Kashmir’s Harwan area on Monday.
The operation, codenamed Operation Mahadev, was launched by a joint team comprising the Indian Army’s Chinar Corps, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).
According to official sources, the operation began early Monday morning following specific intelligence inputs about the presence of terrorists in the forested Mulnaar area near Mount Mahadev.
A cordon and search operation was initiated, during which the hiding terrorists opened fire on the approaching security forces, triggering an intense firefight. The security forces effectively retaliated, resulting in the elimination of three terrorists.

The Indian Army’s Chinar Corps confirmed the development, stating, “Three terrorists have been neutralized in an intense firefight. Operation continues.” The operation is still underway as security forces conduct thorough searches to ensure no additional threats remain in the area.
Details regarding the identities of the slain terrorists or their affiliations have not yet been disclosed by the authorities.
No casualties were reported among the security forces during the encounter.
This operation comes amid heightened security measures in Jammu and Kashmir following a series of terror-related incidents in the region, including the deadly Pahalgam attack on April 22, 2025, which claimed 26 lives. Authorities have intensified efforts to curb terrorist activities, with multiple operations conducted across the region in recent months.

I thank the BJP govt for killing of Terrorists -3 nos. I am glad & bow to the govt for sharing the slain terrorists photos with their Pahalgam victims. The “sindoor” of our sisters is partially avenged and waiting for balance 4 nos. also to face the same fate.
