22 minors among 65 detained; organiser Ishaan tested positive for ganja use
In a major crackdown on illegal drug-related activities, the Rajendranagar Special Operations Team (SOT) conducted a raid at a farmhouse in Moinabad, Telangana, detaining 65 people who had gathered for a “Trap House Party” advertised on Instagram, officials said on Saturday.
The raid took place at Oaks Farmhouse, following intelligence inputs about a possible drug party. Upon arrival, police found the attendees—many of them in an inebriated state—engaged in acts of intoxication. Of the 65 people detained, 22 were minors, including five girls. In total, there were 12 female participants, police said.
Blood tests confirmed that two individuals had consumed ganja (marijuana). One of them has been identified as Ishaan, who is also believed to have organised the event. The other individual’s identity has not been disclosed, as he is a minor.
According to Moinabad Inspector G. Pawan Kumar Reddy, Ishaan is a second-year private college student who returned to India earlier this year and is suspected of being a regular user of narcotics. His father currently lives in Canada, the officer said.
Police sources indicated that the party had been promoted on social media, inviting youth from Hyderabad and nearby districts. Authorities have also begun tracing the source of narcotic substances and social media handlers involved in the event’s promotion.
The detained individuals are currently being interrogated, and further legal action will follow based on the forensic reports and investigation findings.
