No VVIPs, first row reserved for shramyogis; Republic Day 2023 parade at a glance
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has instructed to accommodate 850 construction workers designers and labourers who built the Kartavya Path in New Delhi in which the 2023 Republic Day parade will be held. This is the first time in 2023 that the redeveloped earlier Rajpath is now with the new name Kartavya Path. Prime Minister Modi is keen that these construction workers, those who sell snacks at India Gate earn livelihood street vendors and fruit sellers at the lawns of India Gate, have the right to celebrate happiness as they sweat and starved to ensure the successful completion of Kartavya Path.
With the Republic Day parade being held at Kartavya Path (formerly Rajpath) this year, the invitees include common people from all walks of society. The guest list are shramyogis involved in the construction of Central Vista Avenue, Kartavya Path, and the new Parliament building, besides vegetable vendors and street vendors. Prime Minister Modi while instructing the officials recollected that during his young days had to toil for salary selling tea, at rail platforms. “I know the happiness if I earned 50 rupees.” I will sit at the rail station to watch the trains move with happiness. That is why I am now keen when I flag off Vande Bharat new styled light trains. “ Similarly Narendra Modi also told the officials that on the day of the construction completion of Kashi Viswanath Corridors, Modi recollected that he washed the feet of the labourer. He showered flower petals on them. Modi worshipped the sacrifice of these labourers. Hence in New Delhi in January 2023, for Republic Day celebrations Modi wants construction workers to be present when the Egypt President is the Chief Guest.
