
Gayatri Prajapati is an accused in the Hamirpur illegal mining case
On Thursday, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted raids at 13 locations, in Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Delhi in connection with an ongoing illegal sand mining case related to former Cabinet Minister Gayatri Prajapati.
The ED raids are underway in close coordination with State police forces under provisions of the Money Laundering Act case initiated by the ED in 2021.
The searches included the residences of Gayatri Prajapati, his wife and sons in Uttar Pradesh’s Lucknow, Amethi; Maharashtra’s Mumbai; and Delhi among other locations. ED is also raiding the house of Gayatri Prajapati’s alleged associate Gudda Devi.
The local police have tightened security at both places. Security forces have been deployed outside the house.
Gayatri Prajapati is an accused in the Hamirpur illegal mining case. CBI is investigating the illegal mining scam. Recently, CBI had summoned SP President Akhilesh Yadav for questioning. However, Akhilesh Yadav did not participate in this inquiry.
