Rahul Gandhi under fire over Hindenburg comments

Amid the intense backlash surrounding Hindenburg Research’s latest report, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) launched a fierce assault on the Congress party and its allies on Monday. The BJP alleged that the opposition had colluded with the US-based short-seller to “harm and destabilize” the Indian financial markets.

At a press conference, senior BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad accused the Congress and its I.N.D.I.A bloc partners, along with what he termed the “toolkit gang,” of conspiring to create economic chaos in India. “After being rebuffed by the people of India, the Congress party and its allies have conspired to usher in economic anarchy and instability,” Prasad charged.

The BJP’s comments come in the wake of allegations from Hindenburg Research against SEBI Chairperson Madhabi Puri Buch and her husband, Dhaval Buch.

Citing the timing of the report, he said that this was a deliberate attempt to influence the stock markets that were robustly and steadfastly moving to new heights in the third term of the Modi government.

“The Hindenburg report was released on Saturday; Sunday saw uproar by Congress and its allies. There was a motive to hurt the markets on Monday” he said and also added that he was glad that the strong fundamentals of the markets have held it steady.

Ravi Shankar Prasad further said that the Hindenburg report was nothing but propaganda against the country, at the behest of those who have a history of peddling anti-India agenda.

Shedding light on the ‘real force’ behind the malicious report, he said, “George Soros, a serial propagandist against Indian democracy is the main investor in Hindenburg Research. He is the one who believes that the Modi government should be dislodged for upholding democratic principles.”

He said that the malicious and mischievous nature of the report is evident from the fact that instead of responding to the SEBI notice, it chose to attack the country’s institutions.

The BJP MP further lambasted the Congress and asked what its current leadership wants to achieve by aligning with toolkit gangs and also urged the party veterans to ‘enlighten the existing lot’, over matters of national importance.

“Today, Congress politics comprises Toolkit politics and chit politics. Party’s present leadership is involved in creating economic anarchy in India based upon fictitious report,” Ravi Shankar Prasad claimed.

“In their pathological hatred against Narendra Modi, Rahul-led Congress and toolkit gangs have developed hatred against the country itself,” Ravi Shankar Prasad professed.

“The question is before the Congress party and its politics as to what it wants by fanning agenda and propaganda spread by toolkit gangs,” he said.

Meanwhile, Union Minister of State for Home Bandi Sanjay Kumar said that Rahul Gandhi was following China’s orders.

MP Kanagana Ranaut launched a no-holds-barred attack on Rahul Gandhi, over the latter’s support and endorsement of the Hindenburg Research’s report on SEBI chief Madhabi Puri Buch. She described him as the ‘most dangerous man’ and accused him of destabilizing the nation and its economy.

The BJP MP from Mandi, in a post on X, said that Rahul’s condemnation of the government over a ‘malicious’ report was because he couldn’t secure the PM’s chair.

“Rahul Gandhi is the most dangerous man, he is bitter, poisonous, and destructive, his agenda is that if he can’t be the Prime Minister, then he might as well destroy this nation,” she wrote in the social media post.

Kangana Ranaut said that the Hindenburg report, which it claimed to be a ‘very big‘ revelation, turned out to be a damp squib but Rahul was ‘trying everything to destabilize this nation, its security and economy.’

On Sunday Rahul Gandhi in a video message, demanded that the Prime Minister announce a JPC probe into the serious charges against the SEBI chief.

He asked why the SEBI chairman didn’t resign after the ‘damning’ report and why she along with the Prime Minister should not be accountable for lakhs of investors, who will lose money after the revelations.

“It is my duty as Leader of the Opposition to bring to your notice that there is a risk in the Indian stock market because institutions have been compromised. This is a very serious allegation. Why hasn’t SEBI chairperson Madhabi Puri Buch resigned yet?” Rahul said in the video message.

  1. Could it be fear of various cases with uncertain outcomes, the result of such illogical , desperate and absurd behavior? In the days of who can touch me, all that was done is catching up. The question of presenting a more convincing alternate model of governance is nowhere on the horizon, the endeavor instead is to maline the government with any and all allegations hoping something will stick. The unaccountable independent judicial system offers no solutions, with highly paid delay experts on the panels. Modi is very good except that he is uncompromising on corruption, no give and take on that, he has no dalals who could be used to strike a deal with him. It is almost impossible to deal with such a man, but he is navigating through the overt and covert corrupt legislation, bureaucracy, judiciary and the self serving media without a scratch on himself.

  2. He is an agent. What is that stops BJP from pursuing National Herald & other cases against Pappu family ? Is it afraid of death. Make announcement from Red Fort speech on 15-Aug & launch full scale attack on Pappu & family. Even if death comes, the mob will massacre like Khangress did in 1984, that would save the nation from dark figures like Pappu
