‘Failed’ Munir spits ‘anti-India’ rant from US soil?
Pakistan’s Army Chief, General Asim Munir, has issued an unprecedented nuclear threat against India while speaking from US soil. Addressing a private event in Tampa, Florida, Munir warned that Pakistan would “take half the world down” if faced with an existential threat in a future war with India.
“We are a nuclear nation. If we think we are going down, we’ll take half the world down with us,” he said, according to multiple reports.
The remarks, reportedly made during a dinner hosted by businessman and honorary consul Adnan Asad, mark the first known instance of a nuclear threat being delivered from the United States against a third country.
Threat over Indus Waters Treaty
Munir also warned of retaliatory strikes if India proceeds with infrastructure projects on Indus River channels, following New Delhi’s decision to suspend the Indus Waters Treaty after the April Pahalgam terror attack. Claiming such projects could endanger 250 million people in Pakistan, he said:
“We will wait for India to build a dam, and when it does, phir das missile sey faarigh kar dengey [we will destroy it with 10 missiles]. The Indus River is not Indians’ family property. Humein missilon ki kami nahin hai, al-hamdulillah [we have no shortage of missiles, Praise be to God].”
Second US visit in two months
This was Munir’s second visit to the US in two months. In June, he attended a White House luncheon with President Donald Trump and reportedly suggested Trump be nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize — a proposal he repeated at the Florida gathering. Around 120 Pakistani-origin attendees were present, and participants were barred from carrying mobile devices. Reports also claim a representative from the Israel Defense Forces was present.
Comments on India-Pakistan conflict
Referring to the recent four-day military conflict with India, Munir criticized New Delhi for not publicly disclosing its battlefield losses.
“The Indians should accept their losses… Sportsman spirit is a virtue,” he said, adding Pakistan would reveal its own losses if India did the same.
He also referenced a symbolic social media post involving Surah Al-Fil and a photo of Indian industrialist Mukesh Ambani, saying it signaled Pakistan’s targeting strategy in a future conflict:
“We’ll start from India’s East, where they have located their most valuable resources, and then move westwards.”
Admitting the gap with India
In a striking metaphor, Munir acknowledged Pakistan’s weaker position compared to India:
“India is shining, a Mercedes coming on a highway like a Ferrari, but we are a dump truck full of gravel. If the truck hits the car, who is going to be the loser?”
Political ambitions?
Amid speculation that he may seek Pakistan’s presidency, Munir also defended the military’s role in governance:
“They say war is too serious to be left to the generals, but politics is also too serious to be left to the politicians.”

The guy has forgotten what happened in the wake of his jugular vein claim. Encouraged by the lunch with Trump he must remember who good Trump is at publicly insulting the invited guests like Zelensky. But then a self promoted Field Marshal is not expected to have self-respect.
