Police deploy additional forces after threatening email in Punjabi warns of blasts

Several schools in Gujarat’s capital Ahmedabad received a bomb threat email on Monday, triggering panic and prompting swift police action, officials said.

According to the Ahmedabad District Education Officer, multiple schools were targeted with an email that allegedly mentioned “turning India into Khalistan” and warned of potential blasts.

Following the threats, Ahmedabad Police deployed additional security personnel and launched thorough checks across the affected institutions. Crime branch teams were also sent to the schools to investigate the origin of the email.

Officials said the threatening message was written in Punjabi and contained provocative content. However, no suspicious objects had been found at the time of reporting, and searches were ongoing.

Similar threat in Delhi

Last week, seven schools in Delhi received a similar bomb threat email claiming that the national capital would be turned into Khalistan. Authorities later termed the threat a hoax after extensive checks.

The schools that received the email in Delhi included Delhi Tamil Education Association on Pusa Road, Kendriya Vidyalaya in Gole Market, Happy Public School in Daryaganj, Rabea Public School in Ballimaran, CL Bhalla DAV School in Jhandewalan, Sardar Patel Vidyalaya in Lodhi Estate and The British School in Chanakyapuri.

In that case, officials said the email also contained disturbing and provocative content, including a mention of a possible blast inside Parliament. After detailed inspections, no explosives were found.

Authorities in Ahmedabad are continuing investigations to trace the sender of the latest threat and have urged parents and students to remain calm while security checks are underway.
