Teen driver flees after losing control of vehicle, leaving multiple pedestrians injured and sparking public outrage
A 15-year-old boy allegedly driving a speeding car injured five people after crashing into pedestrians and vehicles on a busy road in Maharashtra’s Jalgaon district on Wednesday night. The minor fled the scene immediately after the accident, triggering a police search operation.
According to reports, the incident occurred on Ramanandnagar Road when the teenager lost control of the vehicle. The car veered off the road and struck several pedestrians and vehicles in its path, causing panic in the area.
A young man riding an electric two-wheeler suffered a severe leg fracture, while four others sustained injuries of varying degrees. Officials said a total of nine people were caught in the path of the speeding vehicle, with five requiring medical attention.
All injured victims were rushed to a nearby private hospital, where they are currently undergoing treatment.
The accident sparked anger among local residents, who gathered at the spot shortly after the crash. Fearing retaliation from the crowd, the minor allegedly abandoned the vehicle and escaped before police arrived.
Police have launched an investigation into the incident and are searching for the teenager. Officials said further legal action will be taken after the accused is traced and the circumstances surrounding the accident are fully examined.
