Police Commissioner’s approval made mandatory for training programmes as it strengthens deployment to manage the evolving law and order situation
Delhi Police has cancelled all routine leave for its personnel until further orders as authorities tighten security arrangements in the national capital amid continuing student protests.
According to an official directive, police personnel across all ranks will not be granted routine leave, including casual leave and earned leave, with immediate effect. The order will remain in force until fresh instructions are issued.
The directive states that leave will be approved only in genuine emergency cases after due verification and clearance from the competent authority. It also instructs all Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) to ensure strict compliance so that adequate manpower remains available for deployment across the city.
In another key decision, Delhi Police has made it mandatory for personnel to obtain prior approval from the Police Commissioner before attending any training programme until further orders.
The order, issued with the approval of the Delhi Police Commissioner, applies across the force and is aimed at ensuring sufficient personnel are available to handle law and order duties.
The move comes as security has been heightened in the national capital in view of the ongoing student protests. Authorities are maintaining additional deployment for crowd management, traffic regulation and public order to deal with any escalation in the situation.
