[dropcap color=”#008040″ boxed=”yes” boxed_radius=”8px” class=”” id=””]B[/dropcap]JP may soon add one more member to its list of MLAs in Kerala as it has been proved that the Muslim League member from Manjeswaram assembly constituency “won” the 2016 election with the help of fraudulent and bogus voters.

The CPI-M, notorious for booth capturing, rigging, impersonation and bogus voting had made use of the names of voters who were dead or away in West Asian countries…

P B Abdul Razak, an Islamic fanatic belonging to the Muslim League was declared elected by a margin of 89 votes to the Kerala Legislative Assembly in the 2016 assembly election from Manjeswaram. His nearest rival K Surendran of the BJP had approached the Kerala High Court with an election petition stating that Razak was helped in the election by the CPI-M who ensured that all the party supporters voted for the Muslim League candidate to prevent the BJP from winning at Manjeswaram.

The CPI-M, notorious for booth capturing, rigging, impersonation and bogus voting had made use of the names of voters who were dead or away in West Asian countries to cast their votes for the Muslim candidate. The High Court had directed the Centre to probe a list of 197 persons submitted by Surendran who had alleged that these voters were either dead or away from the country on the day of polling.

As per the affidavit submitted by the Centre to the Kerala High Court on Monday, a probe by the central intelligence agencies found that out of the 26 persons in the list submitted by Surendran, 20 were away from the country on the day of polling. The remaining six were in India on that day though it could not be ascertained whether they were in the constituency.

[dropcap color=”#008040″ boxed=”yes” boxed_radius=”8px” class=”” id=””]T[/dropcap]he Centre also stated in the affidavit that since the passport numbers of all the names in the list were not available immediately, it may take time to find out the details about these people. If the affidavit submitted by the union government is any indication, massive rigging, impersonation and bogus voting has taken place in Manjeswaram and elsewhere in the State.

It may take time to find out the passport details of persons listed by Surendran in his complaint as many persons, especially the Muslims in Kasaragod district, hold a minimum of three passports.

Surendran had said in his petition that 291 votes cast in Manjeswaram were bogus votes. The court issued summons orders to 259 persons who had figured in the voters list which has rattled the Muslim League and the CPI-M. The Election commission has submitted relevant details about the polling held in all the 167 booths in the constituency. If the court orders the decoding of the control units in the EVMs, the details about the voting would be known.

The Manjeswaram incident is not new in Kerala. There is always a Congress-Marxist-League axis working energetically all over Kerala to make sure that the BJP does not open its account from the State. But in the 2016 assembly election, the Lotus bloomed in Kerala when O Rajagopal, the octogenarian leader of the BJP won from Nemom, a constituency in Thiruvananthapuram suburb. Many BJP candiates finished second and third due to the Co-Ma-Le (known in Malayalam jocularly as KOMALI, buffoon) alliance.

It may take time to find out the passport details of persons listed by Surendran in his complaint as many persons, especially the Muslims in Kasaragod district, hold a minimum of three passports. They were helped in their mission to own as many passports as possible thanks to a late former union minister belonging to the Muslim League who held the portfolio of external affairs in the UPA government. Passport rules were simplified by this minister, who was well known for his closeness and friendship with undesirable elements based in West Asia. His name also figured in a scandal involving the visit of foreigners who had been declared as persona nona grata to Kerala during 1982 to 1987.

As usual, the mainstream media in Kerala (both print and electronic) blacked out the details of this case. In the past also the Muslim League and the CPI-M candidates won from Kasaragod and other assembly constituencies thanks to the block voting by KOMALI alliance. Such reports and allegations had been blacked out by the pro-CPI-M media in Kerala.
