BJP manifesto pledges to catapult Karnataka as the most powerful state

Amid the high-octane Karnataka Assembly elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has released its manifesto for the poll-bound state in the presence of BJP National President J P Nadda and the ruling Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.

BJP has pledged to enact a Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in the state if elected to power. The UCC, also known as Article 44, seeks to ensure equality for all citizens under a single national civil code, regardless of their religion.

The BJP has promised to implement the UCC based on the recommendations of a high-level committee that will be set up for this purpose. The party’s manifesto states that “justice to all; appeasement to none” is its policy.

The BJP manifesto for Karnataka also includes plans to establish an “Atal Aahara Kendra” in every ward of every municipal corporation in the state to provide affordable and healthy food to everyone.

In addition, the BJP has pledged to launch the “Poshane” scheme, which will provide half a liter of Nandini milk and five kg of “Shri Anna-siri Dhanya” through monthly ration kits to every BPL household.

The manifesto gives due importance to the agriculture sector. The government has already announced several schemes for the farmers in the budget, including the opening of 1,000 agricultural manufacturing centers, completion of the pending irrigation schemes on priority, and a special impetus for the millets.

Construction of five lakh houses in urban areas and 10 lakh houses in rural areas, a subsidy of Rs.5 lakh for the construction of each house, distribution of five kg millets along with rice, distributing 500 ml of milk, and Rs.10 lakh insurance cover for the BPL card holders under the Ayushman Bharat scheme are among the promises made by the BJP.

Speaking on the occasion, Nadda said, “The manifesto is all about Naya Karnataka. Our manifesto talks about schemes and policies for people. It talks about the aspirations of all sections of society.”

He accused the previous Congress government of looting the resources in the state. The Siddaramaiah government also halted the schemes and development in the state, he added.

“Our government is for the development. BJP’s double-engine government is trouble for the opposition. Karnataka is reaching a one trillion economy and is number one in foreign direct investment,” said J P Nadda.

While releasing the party manifesto here, the Chief Minister said no one had thought about the COVID-19 pandemic and based on that experience, the manifesto has been prepared.

The CM said the manifesto has been of the people, for the people, and by the people. It aims to make Karnataka the most vibrant state.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has set a target of a five trillion-dollar economy for the country to achieve this, IT/ BT and industry will be given importance. This is a pro-people manifesto and the people will make note of the same and support the BJP in the coming Assembly election, CM Bommai stated.
