FTII Pune students put up ‘Remember Babri’ posters a day after Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha, clash with members of Hindu outfits after they burn the posters

A banner was put up by FTII-Students Association (FTII-SA), proclaiming, ‘Remember Babri, Death of Constitution’, after which a clash erupted between some students of the Pune-based Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) and members of certain Right-wing groups.

A few people were injured in the clash.

The banner, referring to the disputed mosque’s demolition at Ayodhya in 1992, was allegedly put up by the FTII-Students Association (FTII-SA), leading to bouts of anxiety on the campus at around 2 pm on Tuesday.

Taking strong objection to the banner, some Right-wingers raised slogans, and set the banner on fire, leading to skirmishes between them and some students.

A police team from the Deccan Gymkhana Police Station rushed to the campus and promptly brought the matter under control, though tensions continued to simmer in the vicinity.

The incident, in which an undisclosed number of students and activists were reportedly injured, came a day after the consecration of Lord Ram Mandir in Ayodhya on January 22.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police (I), S S Gill, told media persons that the situation was under control and the police were taking action against all those involved in the fracas.

Meanwhile, police personnel including riot police have been deployed outside the FTII campus to thwart any untoward incidents.

  1. Peaceful community mind which is dead cannot be revived. They will continue with such posters to provoke & in return they will perish themselves with passage of time.

  2. Babar demolished Ayodhya Temple is reconstructed !!

Someone is noting the details of these leftist students, whose future is likely to be bleak to NO future at all. That is the only way to make them learn realities of life.

  3. the leftists at FTII , still thinking , they have a bright future in the Bharat. Let them realise, in fact , no where in the world ” left has no life.
