Budget 2024: Participants in the scheme will receive a monthly internship allowance of Rs.5000
While presenting the Budget 2024 in Parliament, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Tuesday announced an ambitious internship scheme that will help over 1 crore youth over a period of 5 years. The scheme will collaborate with 500 top companies across the country.
Participants in the scheme will receive a monthly internship allowance of Rs.5000.
The government has unveiled a sponsored scheme aimed at enhancing the skills of India’s youth. Over the next five years, the initiative seeks to offer skill development opportunities to 20 lakh young individuals.
Announced with the goal of bolstering the country’s workforce, the program aims to equip young people with essential skills through various training initiatives. This initiative aligns with broader efforts to boost employability and foster economic growth.
Sitharaman said, “The Government will launch a scheme to provide internship opportunities to 1 crore youth in 500 top companies with Rs.5000 per month as internship allowance and one-time assistance of Rs.6000.”
As the Finance Minister rose to present the Union Budget 2024-25 in Parliament, she thanked the people of India who reposed their faith in the government led by PM Narendra Modi.
She said that the government is determined to ensure that all Indians regardless of religion, caste, gender, and age make substantial progress in realizing their life goals and aspirations
Sitharaman marked her seventh consecutive presentation of the 2024-25 Budget, surpassing the record set by former PM Morarji Desai.
Budget 2024 is the first since Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government was re-elected for a third term.
