Sanjay Raut arrested by ED in Patra Chawl land scam case
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Monday arrested former CM of Maharashtra Uddhav Thackrey’s close aide Sanjay Raut and shall be produced before a special court later in the day after a medical check-up.
Sanjay Raut is the chief spokesperson of the Thackrey faction and executive editor of the Samana Group of newspapers.
After an 18-hour suspense starting with a raid by the ED on Raut’s home at dawn on Sunday, then his detention and grilling, Raut was finally arrested in the early hours of Monday in connection with the alleged Rs.1,034 crore Patra Chawl land scam case.
After a medical check-up, Raut shall be taken before a Special Court under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), where ED cases are usually heard, at around 11.30 a.m.
Meanwhile, Sanjay Raut’s brother and Shiv Sena MLA Sunil Raut said that with the arrest, the BJP is trying to muzzle the voice of Shiv Sena.
“We are not scared by all these bogus actions… Raut saheb will fight, we all shall fight… the Shiv Sena will fight but will not now before the BJP, Sanjay Raut will never leave the Sena,” he said.
After the arrest of Shiv Sena member Sanjay Raut in a land scam case, party MP Priyanka Chaturvedi on Monday gave suspension of business notice in Rajya Sabha under rule 267 citing the Centre’s “misuse” of investigative agencies for political agendas and detaining opposition leaders in a bid to silence them.

Sanjay Raut declared he would till his last breath i.e. will not disclose anything till his death (read it, he will carry money laundering scam details to his grave).
Poor fellow Sanjay Raut, got only Rs. 11.5 lacs & he is penalized for it !! He is the sincere & honest person, punished for his closeness with Dawood & Sharad Pawar team. Sanjay Raut is a holy man & a king maker. BJP is still sulking having lost opportunity of holding CM position in Maharashtra. He would have made BJP King, if politely asked so. He swore to remain to his corrupt ideals / deals, even if he is dead (i.e. he will never learn from bad deeds !!) Great man & where can one find such loyalty in BJP ?? Unparalleled loyalty. He has a mass base (i.e. *ss base !!) which could be recycled to make compost & nature friendly manure.
