ED registers case and is probing the alleged investments made by Jaffer Sadiq in Tamil and Hindi movie industries

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has registered a case against drug peddler and former leader of the ruling DMK, Jaffer Sadiq, and is probing the alleged investments made by Jaffer Sadiq in the Tamil and Hindi movie industries.

Jaffer Sadiq was recently arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) after a four-month-long manhunt.

There were also allegations that he had made payments to the DMK leadership and also invested heavily in many real estate projects in Chennai, Salem, Madurai, and Coimbatore.

The NCB has named Jaffer Sadiq as the kingpin of a major drug trafficking network through which drugs worth Rs.2,000 crore were smuggled to Australia and New Zealand.

The ED is probing the alleged investments made by Jaffer Sadiq in the Tamil and Hindi movie industries.

A special ED team has commenced its probe into all these investments by the drug peddler and is ascertaining the links he has used to transfer the money.

According to NCB officers, he had also put his money into the restaurant business in Chennai and was planning to expand it, when he was arrested.

  1. He has given only Rs. 70 to DMK party owners. Why harass him ?
    On a different occasion he has given Rs. 7 lac out of Rs. 70 crores to DMK party.
    That amount is nothing. He is being witch hunted against Indian constitution.

  2. Since Independence & still continuing, Govt has no mechanism to get intelligence feedback from common man. It relies on info from CIA, ISI,….etc.. but not from its own citizens.
