Three killed as attackers strike Pakistan FC headquarters in Peshawar
Gunmen launched an attack on the headquarters of Pakistan’s Frontier Constabulary (FC) in the northwestern city of Peshawar on Monday, according to police officials. The complex was also targeted by two suicide bombers, Reuters reported, citing security sources.
At least three people have been killed in the incident, the sources said, adding that security forces were responding to the assault while cordoning off the surrounding area.
“The FC headquarters is under attack; we are responding and the area is being cordoned off,” police officer Mian Saeed Ahmad told Pakistan’s Dawn newspaper. He confirmed that multiple explosions were heard during the attack.
Videos circulating on social media soon after the incident showed reports of blasts near FC Chowk in Peshawar’s main Saddar area. Authorities have not yet confirmed the authenticity of the clips.
