The great ‘samosa’ circus of the Congress
In a bizarre political twist that has everyone talking, Himachal Pradesh‘s Congress party is making waves over an incident involving samosas. What was meant to be a simple snack for Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu turned into a full-blown controversy after the samosas—ordered from a luxury 5-star hotel—ended up being devoured by a group of police officers. The plot thickens: these five officers are now facing show-cause notices for allegedly engaging in “anti-government” activities!
Here’s the scoop:
During CM Sukhu’s visit to the CID headquarters in Shimla to inaugurate a new cyber fraud management system, a mix-up occurred. The samosas and cake intended for the CM were mistakenly served to his staff instead. According to a CID report, only one sub-inspector knew the refreshments were for the CM. However, the treats, overseen by a woman inspector, were passed to the wrong section and ended up in the hands of the staff—much to the dismay of the authorities.
A senior officer even labeled the incident as an “anti-government” act, accusing the officers of undermining the respect due to the CM. The CID is now investigating the case, rather than the police headquarters.
And the cherry on top? The CM, who ordered the samosas in the first place, can’t even eat them due to a recent illness! This whole episode has left the public scratching their heads and wondering if samosas might become the next big political scandal in Himachal.
The entire episode has become a point of contention and amusement, with many questioning the motives behind the disciplinary action and the peculiar circumstances surrounding the samosa order.
