On Wednesday, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) arrested Jharkhand Congress minister Alamgir Alam after two consecutive days of questioning by the central agencies in Ranchi, in connection with the recovery of massive cash from the domestic help of his personal assistant.

Alamgir Alam was arrested days after the recovery of cash amounting to more than Rs.35 crore.

The Congress minister was grilled by the ED sleuths for nine hours on Tuesday and for six hours on Wednesday.

After the cash seizure on May 6, the ED raids were also conducted at the residence of Alamgir Alam’s personal assistant Sanjeev Lal, and his other associates.

Both Sanjeev Lal, PS to Alamgir Alam, and his domestic help Jehangir Alam were arrested by the ED after recovery of a whopping Rs.35.23 crore in cash from their premises in Ranchi.

The duo were subsequently booked under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) and arrested.

  1. He will get exonerated by Supreme Court in no time……
While Supreme Court can take centuries to give a judgement, but when it comes to ED they strike them with lightning speed !!
Time to dismantle the courts in India & allow society to deal with it directly & solve problems – bring gangs to break shoulders, legs or back bone, or murder, or rob the offender & punish the offender themselves….no point in going to courts.
Indians are too much frustrated with legal system in India. Endless court rounds…& judges are corrupt or sit on them for decades.
