PM Modi to unveil key infrastructure, healthcare projects in Maharashtra via video conferencing

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to launch a series of significant development projects in Maharashtra on Wednesday, totaling over Rs.7,600 crore, via video conferencing.

A key part of these initiatives is the foundation stone for the upgrade of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport in Nagpur, with an estimated project cost of around Rs.7,000 crore. This project aims to catalyze growth across various sectors, including manufacturing, aviation, tourism, logistics, and healthcare, thereby benefiting Nagpur city and the broader Vidarbha region.

Additionally, PM Modi will lay the foundation for the New Integrated Terminal Building at Shirdi Airport, which is budgeted at over Rs.645 crore. This terminal, designed with a theme based on the spiritual neem tree of Sai Baba, will provide world-class facilities for the influx of religious tourists visiting Shirdi.

In line with his commitment to improving healthcare accessibility, the Prime Minister will operationalize 10 government medical colleges across the state, located in Mumbai, Nashik, Jalna, Amravati, Gadchiroli, Buldhana, Washim, Bhandara, Hingoli, and Ambernath (Thane). These colleges will increase the number of undergraduate and postgraduate seats while offering specialized tertiary healthcare services.

Furthering his vision of making India the “Skill Capital of the World,” PM Modi will inaugurate the Indian Institute of Skills (IIS) in Mumbai. Established through a Public-Private Partnership between the Tata Education and Development Trust and the Central government, this institute aims to develop an industry-ready workforce equipped with cutting-edge technology and hands-on training in areas such as mechatronics, artificial intelligence, data analytics, industrial automation, and robotics.

Moreover, the Prime Minister will launch the Vidya Samiksha Kendra (VSK), which will enhance educational management by providing students, teachers, and administrators with access to essential academic and administrative data through live chatbots. This initiative aims to improve resource management in schools, strengthen connections between parents and the state, and deliver responsive support and curated instructional resources to enhance teaching practices and student learning.
