The positive result for BJP
The four State Assembly results have showcased that the ‘Magic’ has worked. With that great trust Modi govt bravely convened a Parliament session on the next day of results indicate that the BJP was strong in their assessment.
Telangana was a twist. Regional satrap did win. BJP did help to decimate Bharatiya Rashtriya Samiti, including the dynast KCR family. The BJP has effectively campaigned that ‘dynasts do bring corruption’. It is a message for the Akhilesh Yadav–M K Stalin–Uddhav dynasts.
In other words, it is a dance of democracy. One vote can change governments. Modi and BJP are all set to focus now on the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.
Chunavi Hindutva’s adoption by Congress has been a negative factor. Rahul Gandhi‘s frequent foreign visits did not gel with voters in four states.
Crores of tribal voters of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh rejected Congress. Rahul Gandhi’s anti-Adani, pro-China campaign did not cut ice with North Indian voters.
Interestingly the outburst by DMK’s Udhayanidhi on Sanatana Dharma ensured Congress rout in North India. BJP used DMK effectively. Rahul Gandhi’s pet slogan jal, jungle, jameen in Chhattisgarh failed. The reason voters lost their faith in the grand old party congress.
BJP has shown exemplary victory.
A clear message from each state. But many political pundits who in the past 72 hours speculated their theories are today perplexed. The exit polls flashed on many television sets did indicate a broader trend. But many exit polls were thrown more confusion than clarity. As a popular quote from a politician voting was done by pointing fingers but with the TV remote one swiftly changed channels by their thumb. Such was the fast forward. First time many TV viewers were confused with different parties in different states
Telangana
The reason for Congress’s win is all due to KCR‘s indifferent approach to the dynasty, his son KTR, and his daughter Kavita. Voters of Telangana have been grateful to Congress for diving Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Sonia Gandhi is considered an Amma of the state
Reva th Reddy leader of Congress did a powerful campaign against the KCR family. He went to the extent of arresting KCR if Congress came to power. Both Rahul and Priyanka did a joint campaign. Minority votes moved out of KCR and Owaissi towards Congress. Hindu votes went out of BJP and hence this sweep of Revanth Reddy wave.
Can we take it that there is no effect of the Bharat Jodo Yatra? but the answer is voters analyzed it. Weighed it. Opted for Congress. What Congress got right in its sole spark, Telangana.
Identifying Revanth early, settling intra-party frictions, cashing in on Karnataka, countering BRS schemes, and painting BRS-BJP-AIMIM as partners, pay off for the party. The Congress, which seems set to win Telangana for the first time since its formation in 2014, did not have much hope about its chances in the state even at the beginning of this year, despite Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra receiving a good response in the state compared to even neighboring Andhra Pradesh.
The lukewarm response to the Yatra in Andhra had seen the party sack its unit chief in November last year soon after the walkathon exited the state.
