Get Tamil Nadu to leave its Atheist – Dravidian centric political ideology, and become a non-apologetic proud Tamil-Indian.
In Prakrit, words such as “Damela,” or “Damila,” which later evolved to “Tamila,” could have been used to denote an ethnic identity. The Hathigumpha inscription of the Kalinga ruler Kharavela refers to a T(ra)mira samghata (a confederacy of Tamil rulers) dated to 150 BCE. It also mentions that the league of Tamil kingdoms had been in existence for 113 years by that time.
Today, TN has acute illiteracy problem, poor rural banking infrastructure, not many opportunities for the youths in the rural and smaller cities, liquor problem, alienation from their roots in the name of communist driven Non-Hindu alias Rational ideology.
While the English word Dravidian was first employed by Robert Caldwell in his book of comparative Dravidian grammar based on the usage of the Sanskrit word Drāviḍa in work Tantravārttika by Kumārila Bhaṭṭa, the word drāviḍa in Sanskrit has been historically used to denote geographical regions of Southern India as a whole. The modern word Dravidian is devoid of any ethnic significance and is only used to classify a linguistic family of the referred group.
C N Anna Durai, freedom fighter and former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu once infamously said. “A man had two dogs – a big one and a small one. He wanted his dogs to go in and out of the house freely without him having to keep the house door open all the time. So he built two “trap doors” – one big trap door for the big dog and one small for the small dog. Neighbors who saw these two doors laughed at him and called him an idiot. Why put a big door and a small door? All that was needed was the big door. Both the big and the small dog could use it!”
“Do we need a big door for the big dog and a small door for the small dog? I say, let the small dog use the big door too!”, Durai had once said. All these arguments lived through its time, it might have helped the society then, but now its 2019 and we have to see what did this beautiful rational idea brought by the stalwart achieved? Did it achieve in bringing Social Parity aka Ram Rajya that his Dravidians party fought for?
Why only Stalin or Maran kids will take over the Dravidian party president post from their illustrious Appas’, what about the very Dravidian movement workers and the social parity dream that was sold? Now the height of shamelessness is that not only in the state but these so-called champions of larger Dravida population have allied with the grand old Nehru family party in the center and mutually shared the reign. Dravidian movement’s noble idea of social parity was compromised and these leaders kept adding to their bank accounts, pushing the hard working, emotional, intelligent and full of self-esteem population of Tamil Nadu away from the mainstream, in the form of divisive politics of different linguist and ethnicity.
Today, TN has acute illiteracy problem, poor rural banking infrastructure, not many opportunities for the youths in the rural and smaller cities, liquor problem which has destroyed the society, affecting mostly women and children, alienation from their roots in the name of communist driven Non-Hindu alias Rational ideology. Playing of Sri-Lankan Tamil card which has not helped but rather further alienated the Tamilian living in that country. All these happened when UPA govt was in power.
One more thing, that should be done by his poll strategists is to get the software developed that helps translate the Tamil language into either Hindi or Gujarati, similar to the system used in the Indian Parliament.
Congress, belittling the legacy of Kamaraj who was an OBC leader like Periyar and Modi, created only One Door and it opened only for OneFamily! Do we want India or TN to be like this? Tamil Nadu legacy has been compromised when Stalin the son of great Karunanidhi goes and sits in the lap of this one family? A party that was responsible for the unfortunate Anti-Hindi agitation, resulting in the loss of some young precious lives, due to badly conceived Nehru-Rajaji linguist model has now become DMK party’s main partner!
Kamaraj reservation scheme in higher education and government employment needs to be reviewed to see if it has reached among the poorest of poor or the entire benefit has been taken by the privileged few among these communities. NDA govt’s recent 10% reservation to the economically disadvantaged groups will benefit all. 69% reservation needs to be analyzed to see that the MahaDalits, Tribes and MBC’s within these communities also get their due shares for the complete upliftment of the society and fulfilling Kamaraj dream of Social parity. This will only come when vote bank politics is defeated.
Bad Ideas can only be defeated by superior ideas. The secessionist idea of Dravida Naadu should be overcome by the idea of emancipation and equality within an undivided India. The underlying grievances highlighted by the secessionists should be considered within the framework of the Indian constitution. Nevertheless, they will not vanish overnight. Nor will vanish forever!
The great Siddhars and Chola kings were rational people, not atheists, turning this Hinduland of temples, into communist imported ideology, Dravidian parties have tried to change the character of Tamil Nadu. It’s the time for them to give space to other players, and let the democracy and Tamil pride be respectfully restored? Modi Ji a Shiv Bhakt chants “Om Namah Shivay” daily, this acts as a Rambaan against any Rahu-Ketuplanetary influence and his juggernaut continues. TN will be his final frontier, and people of the state should give him one opportunity to serve them.
For a CM of a western state of Gujarat, a non-Hindi speaking state and later becoming India’s PM has been the remarkable journey. Coming from the coastal area he can easily relate with the fisherman and other coastal communities and their problems. Doubling of the Families income, Health Insurance benefits and Social upliftment of larger population should be on his agenda for development. The underlying strength of the Tamil Nadu is its old and Tamil culture. The Dravidian parties exploited this emotional frame of the people and helped alienate them from the mainstream. The vast disparity between the Haves and Have-Nots benefitted selected few. The Dravidian parties, created a wall of the ethnic barrier, in the land of Muruga, in close connivance of the Congress party.
What should Modi do to have the reach post the demise of two tall leaders from the state? He should take a cue from Kumbh event where he cleaned the feet of Cleaning class. A similar gesture can be done in TN, like re-enacting Mata Shabari ber (fruit) eating episode. The artificial divide can be closed if he gets the feed from poor and Dalit Tamilian women, giving huge social parity messaging; used by the Dravidian party earlier, but never achieved the desired results. Anyway, the great grandmother of entire Indian sub-continent who helped populate this part of the land was a South Indian Mother living some Sixty thousand years back. If Tamilians think that Delhi (Central Govt) is Hindi/ so-called Aryan’s and away from Tamiz land, then he should declare to move the PMO office once every year for a week to TN… Let him work from Madurai etc. Think Out of Box, Think Different!!!
One more thing, that should be done by his poll strategists is to get the software developed that helps translate the Tamil language into either Hindi or Gujarati, similar to the system used in the Indian Parliament. He can use this platform/system to hear people in Tamil, show appropriate body language and get the best connect any leader could possibly think of by replying Impromptu on the spot and in the language of the people! This will hardly cost much, and many similar softwares might be available. This can be masterstroke along with moving the PMO!
If this land has to become the beacon of Indian culture again, then Brahmins and Non-Brahmins have to come together, and social parity and development have to become the only agenda.
Few things PM’s party strategist should cover.
1. All new high-end trains should have crew members- with multilingual
knowledge…Tamil, Hindi, and English.
2. Airlines to follow, but not against commercial interest.
3. PMO to be moved to TN once every year for Seven days. PM, physically
moves and works from there, meeting people and officials.
4. Language and fear of Hindi influence should be put to rest once for all.
5. Offer UP and Bihar two Hindi states to identify five poor districts and let Tamil
Nadu teach Tamil to the kids there, this will help take the demon of Aryan and
Hindi intrusion out of the psyche.
6. Drinking Water supply – can a pipeline project from Flood affected areas of North
be connected, if we can bring gas pipelines from Iran, why not drinking water from
Kashmir, Bihar, Assam, states etc. Maybe sanction a study project under IIT
Chennai and some other institutes from North also involving Israeli techies as well.
7. Identify some famous Fishermen / Farmers / Literary Tamil scholars and given
some facilitation.
8. Rename Chennai Airport to MGR Airport, Railway station to Jayalalithaa Chennai
Central. Ports under Kalam and Kamaraja name.
9. Accept Ram Setu as the national monument
10. Kamaraj is selected for Bharat Ratna. Build something like Sardar Patel statue, for
the Kamaraj in Chennai.
11. Strong policy when it comes to Tamilian interest in the Indian Ocean and Sri-Lanka
12. Tamil Cinema Museum in TN and name it after Karunanidhi.
13. Built a niche University – to prepare Indian Think Tank Strategic experts on
Maritime warfare and trade; name it after Chola dynasty.
14. Liquor Ban – NDA states like Bihar and Gujarat model to be applied as this is a big
problem in the state. Mafias menace to be checked.
15. Rural income growth, Ayushman Bharat, Gas Cylinder, Educate a Daughter, Rice
Bank (On the line of strategic oil reserve), Fishing Hi-tech boats /equipments
rental banks to create huge maritime-related jobs and Insurance coverage for coastal
people facing natural calamities.
16. Brahmins should be encouraged to come out from living as an apologist, for way too
long now. Dravidian movement is over, time to have “Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikash”,
Swabhimaanback. Ram circuit should connect Ayodhya and Sitamarhi to
Rameshwaram. Brahmins to be incentivized to lead the effort. Huge revenue potential
for the state.
17. Bringing the reservation to the poorest of the poor within the SC/ST and OBC’s
Once Mr. Anna Durai had said why Peacock is the national bird and not the Crow. His explanation was even when Crows population is more it’s the Peacock that wins the national bird crown due to its quality and attributes over the Crows number. This is precisely the situation of the Maha Gathbandhan. Modi a new Peacock of India is poised to take India forward, with definitely some course correction if elected back again and on the other hand, we have a large pool of politicians from all parts of the country with different ideologies coming together and forming a Maha Gathbandana with the only agenda of removing Modi.
The rastra Dharma is above all. Dharma is not necessarily with the majority or minorities; it is eternal, it’s the Truth. This is where BJP under Modi should be driving its focus, by breaking Dravidian vs. Aryan artificial divide theory or Rational vs. Religious narrative. Tamil Nadu is the land of Agastha Rishi, Land of Siddhars, Land of Jain Munis, land of Dr. Kalam and Subramanium Bharathi. If this land has to become the beacon of Indian culture again, then Brahmins and Non-Brahmins have to come together, and social parity and development have to become the only agenda.
Modi as the decision maker has been an enormous surprise and power packed performer. Since his Gujarat days, he has built an image of a person who does not let electoral time tables impact national duty: As prime minister, he has proved that many times. One state which was likely to bear the initial hiccups the most due to demonetization was Uttar Pradesh. Yet, that did not deter him from going ahead with the initiative just a few months before the UP elections. The GST rollout timeline was decided by national consensus — just a few months before the Gujarat elections, a state which would face the maximum initial disruption. Even well-wishers advised Modi to pause, but GST was rolled out on time. Now, just before the national elections, the risk of sending fighter planes deep inside Pakistan territory was immense. It could have gone terribly wrong. But, personal political risk, again, did not deter Modi from taking decisions in the national interest. Perhaps this would cement the defining legacy of the first term of Modi’s prime ministership.
Time has changed, now the role model of the entire nation is a young man from Chennai wearing gunslinger moustache flying vintage MIG BISON and shooting the world’s most feared and heavily used warplane, the F16. He is the new icon of the nation. Tamil Nadu leads India and Modi will be advised to penetrate the state and bring the Pan-Indian reach to his profile. Get Tamil Nadu to leave its Atheist – Dravidian centric political ideology, and become a non-apologetic proud Tamil-Indian. Modi is the only contemporary politician who can do this; he always puts India first. This will be his legacy.

- Modi’s Strategy in Tamil Nadu! - March 8, 2019
What you have wrote ,is it possible ? I from TN
Some very good and innovative ideas ideas . But these are my thoughts.
1. Instead of taking 5 districts from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, One district from 15 of the larger states and 10 schools from the 10+ smaller states can be taught Tamil. This can apply to other languages too.
2. Why should multi lingual proficiency include only Hindi? A train or aeroplane travelling from Chennai to Hyderabad should have staff that are proficient in Tamil, Telugu and English ; and similarly Tamil, Kannada and English for Bengaluru.
3. There is no need for any large statue or renaming of places to names of politicians etc. Instead Airports etc could be named after beautiful flowers or trees e.g.. Jasmine Airport or Malliga poo airport, Banyan tree railway station or Aaala Marra Rail Nilayam . It will help develop an appreciation of nature rather than sycophancy on long dead Political figures, however great they may have been.
Sir, with all due respect, only thing left out is special provision of article 370 for TN. All you are asking is since the so called two great leaders are dead you are asking Modi to fill in using the very same dubious ways of cheap appeasement. why don’t you say that all TN is facing is the same problems that every other state is and what is due and to be addressed in all other states are also due and will be addressed in TN.
Well written article with good intentions. However, this applies to many non Hindi speaking areas of the country – AP, Karnataka, Maharashtra, WB to name a few – why only to TN. Also, it does hint of incentivising perverse behaviour – threat to break away from the main land, will be incentivising.
Sharadji, I wish to congratulate you for your serious attempt made in understanding the Tamil psychie .Language had always been the pride of Tamils and very dear to their heart and even the smallest doubt that there is an attept to denigrate will be met with even violence .This sentiment was exploited by the Dravidian parties and resulted in their unassailable hold on T N.Your article reflects the understanding of this sentiment.Your suggestions listed are very good and if implemented with sincerity will certainly help in integrating the great Tamil culture with rest of India.I wish people who are in the echelons of power reads them and take them seriously.
Agree Thangadurai, our people are gullible and emotional.. Tamil Nadu people needs lot of help in infra and many other social aspect .. The land is a pride of India.. People are very innocent and need leaders who work with them And not use them in meeting their vested interest. TN has to lead ??.. It is a land which has brightest people .
Taminadu has all the potential to get back into rhe forefront among the Indian states. The people have the intellectual capacity and far superior culture that has been drowned over the years by the Dravidian movement. Still it is highly welcoming as more Tamils like this author come out with suggestions to lead the people of Tamilnadu into a New India under the most promising PM India has ever had.
Agree with you Visvalingam
Broadly agree with much of what you have said. Can’t agree with some of the populist measures you have suggested. I think TN has been ruined by populist. The great Tamil heritage of temples, love of literature, language, philosophy end the arts must be revived before it dies out. Great centres of culture like Madurai, Thanjavur, Kanchi pyramid, Kumbakonam etc.must be revived. Chennai-centric activities have depleted the rich legacies of other parts.
As a first move, stop the plunder of temple wealth by greedy politicians. Defeat the cancerous philosophy of atheistic rationalism spread by the David a parties. Once TN connects to its age old culture the way out of the present morass will become clear. Calls for some first rate intellectuals committed to Tamil-Bharat culture. Realize that people who control the political narrative in TN now are parasites. Start by connecting to the hoary culture of the land which is the envy of India and the world.
Elections always will have few populist items along with some other development agenda. TN is so rich culturally that it can beat any state in tourism revenue… When I compare France tourism revenue, india has not used its sanatan culture to sell outside .. TN can lead us ..
all this explanation is not required..there is no difference of Dravidians and aryans now..if modi had taken action against corrupt politicians or at-least explain abt the true results of GST Implementation,he would get vote form TN for sure. building of statutes or renaming of iconic names to places are for gullible masses
